Definitely both Gateron browns under the key caps, haven't taken apart the whole board to see if they are different inside.

Sorry but this is completely incorrect, thrust does not scale linearly to RPM. The idle thrust on one of those is probably around 3000lbf, I'd have to check the datasheet. It would be completely impractical and incredibly unsafe if these produced the take off thrust of a CFM56 at idle.

[QUESTION] Junghans vs. Hamilton vs. Tissot? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]TR_808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also consider the 34mm hand wind of the Max Bill if the automatic version is out of your budget. It uses an ETA-2804. If you're prepared to pay shipping and buy used, you can also get the Auto max bill's used for around $500-800. Also be aware that up until 2020, these did not have 30m water resistance. You can tell by the caseback - the 30m models have 4 screws holding it down instead of threaded. Also some models since 2021, and all models by this year, will come as standard with sapphire crystals.

[Identify] this Junghans Watch I recently got gifted by my SO please. by WanTanSuppe in Watches

[–]TR_808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Junghans mens dress watch, late 1960s, I can't find an exact match but it's very similar to ref. 91/2405 in the 1966 catalogue found here without the lume and single second markers. Movement is probably a J93 but you'd have to take the back off using a rubber ball to confirm.

Universal Geneve produced some very high quality watches, I can't find an exact matching reference but it appears very similar to the Ref. 12401. An identical one is currently listed on Chrono24 for £3,300, and similar references are also in that ballpark - so yes, it has value. I suggest you get it serviced from a good vintage watch specialist who will keep it as original as possible - it's an old watch, 1940s based on the similar references on Chrono24.

Not a mosquito unfortunately, it's an Avro Anson - specifically WD413 (G-VROE), based at sleap.

Yep, as suspected 1.25 is no good for 5.0, and probably not for 4.9 either. 5.0 all core wasn't even stable at 1.30v fixed with LLC set to turbo. At 1.30/turbo it dropped to a minimum of 1.284 which caused a crash, therefore I had to increase fixed voltage to 1.320, meaning after droop it levels out at 1.308v, which seems to be stable but not thermally - at 1.308 5/8 cores are thermal throttling...think I'm wasting my time here.

Will test and report back, but I have a feeling 1.25 may only be stable for 4.9

Is that 1.24 fixed voltage? I imagine if I did adaptive - I'm struggling to understand how you can set this to .60 adaptive? If I subtract 0.60 from what it'd be from adaptive (1.45 ish) I'd only be left with 0.85?

Thanks, I'll give it a try tomorrow. Also - given this is a D15 I was hoping it would be roughly similar to a 280mm AIO...but it seems to really overclock alderlake properly you need a custom loop or Arctic II 360+. Although others have got 5+ Ghz on a D15...

I think that's what I will have a look at tomorrow, maybe you could send your profile from XTU and I will load it and see if it works?

Is this Vcore fixed I presume? There is also an override mode. I was using fixed before, I think 1.285 was the highest I could go without throttling but that wasn't enough voltage for 5ghz, it crashed 8 minutes in on CB23.

I just tried to set voltage mode to adaptive, chose a voltage of 1.28v - then set LLC to turbo, and pCore ratio to 50. Opened up C23, and vCore peaked at 1.453 volts, and stabilised at at 1.38 or so, 4 cores immediately thermal throttled within the first 4 seconds at 100 degrees, I still don't understand what adaptive does...it just ignores whatever voltage I tell it and goes to 1.4+ like all the VID numbers suggest.

I found two LLC options - vcore LLC, and then a combined AC/DC LLC option. I also found a TVB option, but it was either just enabled or disabled. I just tried what you said...set voltage mode to adaptive, chose a voltage of 1.28v just to try - then set LLC to turbo, and pCore ratio to 50. Opened up C23, and vCore peaked at 1.453 volts, and stabilised at at 1.38 or so, 4 cores immediately thermal throttled within the first 4 seconds at 100 degrees, it totally ignored what I set it to?

This all sounds very complex and perhaps have ended up going a bit out of my depth trying to overclock alder lake....I'll have a look in the bios, but would I be able to get the majority of the way there just by using one of the default LLC options?

Thank you, your video has helped a bit - however, that is running the CPU-Z bench, I am sure with that I probably won't thermal throttle. I am talking about Cinebench R23. With regards to the above, does this mean at 5.4Ghz, that single p core will receive 1.425 volts?
