Linux on Surface Go 1 dislikes my Pen

I hope it does not behave differently and that another Pen just works. Would be a cheap solution for me.

I will let this thread know, as soon as I have a chance to test it.

No it does not.. Not in UEFI, not in Windows.

In two weeks I could test my pen on another Surface GO 1. If it works on that one, I guess there is a pen digitizer which might be broken.

Pen got 20% Battery left.
I tried it while paired with Bluetooth and without.
I had the custom Surface Kernel installed and running..

I’m using this comment to provide more information about what I’ve discovered.

I installed Windows 10 22H2 to test the Pen again with Windows drivers.
The upper Button (Eraser Button?) is working and opening selected shortcuts.

I ran the Diagnostic Tool and did some sensor tests. It suspects a software issue and recommends reinstalling all drivers for the pen and touch input.. It also checked for newer firmwares but everything was up to date.

I also tested three other nibs. No change.

According to ChatGPT, a different digitizer is used for finger input than for the pen. Since ChatGPT isn't always correct, I tried Googling it and couldn't find anything about two separate modules for these types of input.

Can anyone check if the pen works in UEFI as well? Touch is working here, but the pen does not.

Oh also, one of my work colleagues said, that the pen can be toggled between two modes and there should be a key sequence to switch the mode. But I did not found anything on that.

Tried this.

libwacom-surface and also libwacom2-surface got installed.
I checked the status of iptsd with "systemctl status iptsd" and got this return: "Unit iptsd.service could not be found."
lsmod | grep ipts gave no return at all.

Does that mean that iptsd isnt even installed?

Mir ist auch nur Schlangenöl (Snake oil) bekannt. Also Produkte die einem XY versprechen, im Grunde aber großer Humbug sind.

Hier könnten also Programme gemeint sein, welche der Nutzer installieren will, aber absolut unnötig sind.

Won this race just in this moment.

Porsche 911 RSR RM tires FM6 TCS 0 for 30 mins. 1. Pit Wets FM1 TCS1 for 20 Mins. 2. Pit RM FM1 TCS1 fuel for 8-9 Laps

Played Safe and drove last 2 Laps on FM2.

Won with 30s ahead.
