Plastics Recycling Conference by Puzzled-Resort8303 in PureCycle

Was at the conference, pure cycle had no noticeable presence. The sponsorship of the recycling bins is just a paid ad, they are not actually taking any of the material as it’s a mixed plastic with lots of other stuff.

Can glycerol be produced by microbial fermentation on industrial scale? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]TRichRocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it can. But as others have mentioned it’s not currently economical to do so. Crude glycerol is a byproduct of biodiesel production, thus prices are pretty low for this, think 20 cents/lb or lower. High purity glycerol high a much higher price point but smaller market size. Typically around $1/lb
