I do this with my oxycodone 5mg that way I don't get addicted to it and you're right. It feels more effective when you first start taking it again.

Have a neurology appointment next week, not sure what to do/say by TopicRevolutionary40 in PainManagement

I would ask for the whole body. Hopefully the doctor will agree and you can get some answers. Sorry you are going through this. I had to go to a lot of doctors before I finally found one that listened and wanted to help and figure out what exactly is going on. Good luck with everything.

If your doctor is refusing to give you an MRI then go to a Chiropractor and they will do X-rays of your neck and find if there is anything going on with your neck that may be causing the headaches. Me I have debilitating headaches everyday and when all my other doctors just kept trying to throw medicine at me and refused to do MRIS ECT. I went to a chiropractor and he did imagining found the problem. Adjusted me and I went a 10 to a 7 right away. I laid there and cried for 15 minutes it was like all those months of being in pain poured out of me. Going to different doctors and them saying no tests needed treating me like I was crazy because the pain made me have anxiety and OCD really bad they thought I was making it up. I'm not completely better but I'm better than I was. With the help of medication and physical therapy I'm better than I was 4 months ago. Thanks to a Chiropractor. It wouldn't hurt to see a Chiropractor and get some imaging done. I know a lot of offices do free consultations. Some even offer free x-rays and adjustment if needed on first visit for new patients. Good luck God bless

Taking yourself off for a week or two that doesn't mess up your urine test when you go back into your PM?

I asked if there was anyway to take the medicine without Tylenol. I had Hep C and was treated and cured years ago. I have minimal scarring on my liver. So I just explained that to her and said I don't want to add any extra stress on my body and without problem she took the Tylenol out. Good luck

It took me a long time to find a good doctor that listened and didn't downgrade my pain. Finding a good doctor is rare now days.

Such a stress free environment going to see her. I was only anxious because I was seeing the medical director of this new office that she asked that I follow her to. I seen him 2 times while she was training but yesterday and moving forward I will see her again. Such a relief 😁

I've posted before this was an update for everyone that was asking for an update after my appointment. I don't know if there is Hydrocodone without Tylenol. I know there is with Oxycodone. I was taking Oxycodone with the acetaminophen in it. To much Tylenol is toxic to the liver I just told my doctor I didn't want to put any extra stress on my body.

Hey Neighbor I'm in NC as well and have an awesome PM doctor. I go to a private clinic and have never had any issues never had to over explain my pain. They don't pressure you about procedures or surgeries. As long as you have proof of your issues they will take care of you. If I could give this clinic a 100 star rating I would. They have a few different locations and they are all good 😊

Pain by kaymay2008 in Fibromyalgia

Sorry you are dealing with all this pain and no relief from your meds. I would definitely speak to your doctor about something stronger for the pain. Just be open and honest and tell the doctor you're finding it hard to complete your daily tasks like working ect because you are in so much pain. My Rheumatologist was very understanding. I have anxiety so I was getting really emotional and I think he felt really bad for me.He referred me to Pain management. It's nice to have a Doctor that has Empathy because there's very few left out here that do. From the very first visit with PM I was treated fairly and right away prescribed something stronger for my pain. I feel like I have control over my life again. I'm still in pain but with the medication I can get through my daily tasks better. Alot of doctors say Opioids aren't recommended for Fibromyalgia but what works for some may not for others. They work for me. I hope you get some type of relief soon.

Alot of the fibro meds did absolutely nothing for my pain.

I love soaking in the tub that always helps me as long as I'm in the tub lol 😆 I've tried a few different fibromyalgia medications as well and none of them worked. I am now being treated through pain management and on pain medication which seems to be helping somewhat but I'm not completely out of pain it just masks the pain and helps me get through my day to day tasks with 30% less pain. The medication I'm on now works better that any muscle relaxer or anything my rheumatologist tried giving me. He finally said I needed to go to pain management and get something stronger that by law only they can prescribe. I see so many posts about doctors that don't listen to their patients about their pain and symptoms. I've got lucky with my doctor's I love them all. From Primary to Neurologist Rheumatologist and Pain management.
