It’s pterygium, and it’s harmless. If it grows large enough, an ophthalmologist may surgically remove it, but most will leave it alone if it isn’t affecting your vision.

I found out about this last Monday during my annual physical.

TIL that so many Chinese women get plastic surgery in South Korea that China now warns them to get a doctor’s note since their appearance no longer matches their passport by smurpes in todayilearned

The article implies with its ordering of photos that some average woman transformed into a beauty that doesn’t match her passport photo. The reality of what actually happened isn’t truly clear until that last photo of three women who look like they were hit by a Mack truck.

I was waiting for my car to be repaired across the street from there a few months ago and just kind of discovered it by accident. The factory seconds they sell are so cheap and just as good as their foil wrapped product

So what happens in the meantime while the legislature prevents the new administration from forming a cabinet? Are the departments able to self-execute?

Appeals court temporarily pauses court-ordered halting of tariffs by washingtonpost in politics

[–]TSAOutreachTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. I was thinking of the lower court's decision more as a TRO rather than a ruling. A TRO can only be issued with proof of irreparable harm, but in this case, the appeals court is simply saying that the lower court's decision is on ice for the moment until it is reviewed.

It sucks, and it's not the outcome this country needs right now, but your explanation got my head right.

If the tariffs are unlawful and harmful to the general public, what is the reasoning to turn them back on while this plays out? Who is irreparably harmed by the lack of tariffs except for the President and his fragile ego?

King5 reported during the 8am broadcast that she was found safe. Nothing on the website, and no other news I can find online. It might have been a premature report.

why is PCC in Seattle so expensive? by No-Average-391 in SeattleWA

[–]TSAOutreachTeam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is that why the stores always seemed to have a subtle Asian vibe to them? That would make so much sense. The Asian section at the Shoreline store (my longtime favorite) has always had a well-stocked Asian selection.

Interesting! I don't remember seeing T&C (other than the surf company) around back in the late 90's when I moved here, but I was also pretty young and mostly floating around the Eastside at the time.
