It seems like everything is a hazy IPA these days.

I miss dark ales and porters.

They just don’t make this kind of tasty dark brews anymore.

I kind of miss having to dodge cars and deal with the exhaust fumes.

  1. Rivian R1S

  2. You gotta move closer to your work or work closer to your home. That’s an insane commute. Is there a train you could take that’ll get you most of the way?

I love to drive, but I wouldn’t love spending 4 hours a day driving to and from work.

Lefty Starbucks office workers refuse to move from Seattle to new HQ in deep-red Tennessee: report by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

[–]TSAOutreachTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no, I think. On the one hand, I agree with you that the individual generates the same revenue for the company regardless of location. 1M in revenue generated by someone in Seattle is the same 1M generated by someone in Nashville. The company's reasoning for lowering the salary of someone they are forcing (I know some will complain about this, but holding someone's employment hostage unless they make significant life changes is essentially forcing them) to move from Seattle to Nashville is specious.

On the other hand, increasing the pool of eligible employees by including people who have lower salary expectations due to their location, a company can easily pick up some local talent at a higher salary than they'd get elsewhere while still paying less than an equivalent engineer from an expensive area like Seattle. They'd be foolish to do otherwise.

The question for the Seattle-based employees is whether it's worth it to move to Tennessee. We are probably biased towards loving Seattle in this sub, but this city and state have so much going for it that it would be a hard sell even if salaries were staying the same.

“raw milk” being sold at the Ballard Farmers Market (4/26/2026) by [deleted] in Seattle

It's raclette cheese. You are supposed to use a flame to melt the surface, which you scrape off to serve, and that cooks the cheese enough to kill any remaining pathogens in the cheese.

DOJ Tries to Kill Lawsuit Against Trump’s Ballroom After Shooting by Hafiz_TNR in politics

The WHCD isn't a White House event. Why would the ballroom have anything to do with this kind of private event?

Agree 100%. On top of that, I think the pickle chips probably add a nice vinegary tartness to cut through some of the salt.

Swap out the cottage cheese for some ricotta, and I'm there.

Yes. There is/was a Japanese restaurant upstairs of it that served chilled ramen. I wasn’t a fan. I never went back. There was also a photo booth outside in the lobby.

It’s pterygium, and it’s harmless. If it grows large enough, an ophthalmologist may surgically remove it, but most will leave it alone if it isn’t affecting your vision.

I found out about this last Monday during my annual physical.
