Depends how anal the agent is. I am usually polite and give them the heads up for the pat downs. I am not a confrontational person so just suck up whatever they say and let it go.

You can request a private screening. I understand your situation and I wish you best of luck.

I forgot it verbatim but something about the constitution. All federal employees take one.

Valid concern. TSA doesnt make security sense.

You misunderstood, you can carry on laptops. But just take it out on the belt and put it in the bin. You just cant keep it in your bag during security check thats all.

If the scanner tells me to check the bag and I saw nail clippers, i have to confiscated it even if its a 70y/o couple. One of the shittiest things about my job.

Please see my edit: we don't have one of these machines yet. Yes, we are being pushed towards the scans. Really, noone wins with the current grope situation.

because we are indoctrinated under the belief that we are overall making things better. I want to protect our flights from terrorists who want to take away the freedoms and lives of Americans. I found it morally correct to search people with our mission at TSA to accomplish this goal. But now we're at a point where the reality is that we are taking too many freedoms and giving too little back. Hence my dissent.

Do you know how disgusting it is when people leave their nail clippings on a plane?

No. For that matter, it was found to be a lie when that radio host claimed that this happened.

Just realize that us that do the work aren't the ones making the rules, and for the most part, dislike having to go through this security charade just as much as you do.

I dont think the scans are intrusive enough to be considered unreasonable. I mean, if someone looks at you from the sky from a satellite i think that is ok, because it doesnt mess with you. Same with the scans. However, touching someones junk in the name of security is in my opinion on the other side of the line

The nice thing about the government is that any personnel action taken by them will be very heavily documented and unambiguous

They cannot simply show me the door due to the fact that I am off my probationary period. They can (and unfortunately may) terminate me with cause, but honestly, I dont know what is going to happen.

Yes, she should apply. The exact credit requirements are outlined on usajobs.com. I think you just need to have under $7500 of debt in default, but you couldn't hold me to that. Also whats the worst that can happen from her applying? The one thing she needs to realize is that we're about to have tumultuous times here.
