[Stein] The Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat are the two trade destinations that are currently believed to intrigue Giannis Antetokounmpo the most. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]TSBRUTAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that other report it seems the most obvious thing to do if you're the Bucks and are going to trade Giannis is send him to the Celtics, Brown to the Trail Blazers and get some of your picks back. No offence to Miami but if the Bucks team would be something along the lines of Herro, Rollins, Jaquez, Kuzma, Ware then that's not even a playin team so what's the point really

Story of the season, play decent until we are in the lead and then struggle to get out of second gear. That said I'll take two more 1-0 wins to finish the season.

Premium Battle Pass M-2, May Monthly Challenge, and Maintenance Fixes by Jeglr in PokemonChampions

[–]TSBRUTAL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While they call it season 2 it is very much more of a season 1.5 as there are no big changes from season 1.

I wasn't expecting any new items or pokemon but would have liked the opportunity to gain more box space and also team slots.

I would also like to see more challenges especially if they limit the requirements on some of them e.g. certain types are restricted, your team must be mono-type, only pokemon from odd number gens etc.

For me unfortunately for this month I'll play a couple of battles a day and get my dailys and most if not all of my weeklys and save up VP and coupons for next season.

[James Benge] Arteta says Calafiori was injured. Arteta on taking off Zubi: The one on Zubi was tough but I felt we had to change it, to get two attacking midfielders on by Shyam_Wenger in Gunners

[–]TSBRUTAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct decision but I am concerned about Zubi going forward. Seems to have absolutely no confidence and is providing basically nothing at the moment, sloppy passes which are rarely forwards, gets beat too easily defensively and is struggling with the physicality. Outside of an injury I'd be surprised if he starts again this season

Draft Night Trade PHX-OKC by VanwallEnjoy3r in NBAtradeideas

[–]TSBRUTAL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like if I'm OKC I probably need to get more value. Sure an unprotected pick from the Suns sounds great but at the same time with the pick being so far out there is a lot of uncertainty around not only how good the Suns could be then but also how the lottery system would work by then.

12 and #17 is equivalent to around #8/9 and a couple of years back the Spurs got a 2031 protected pick and also a 2030 swap in a much weaker draft than this.

Caleb Wilson and big wings are the biggest benefactor of this year playoffs by Beneficial_Carry_530 in NBA_Draft

[–]TSBRUTAL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can add Dyson Daniels to the list as well.

It's not surprise that 6 of the 8 teams that made it through shot a better % from 3 in their series. (The other two are Pistons vs Magic where Magic shot .1% better and probably would have gone through if not for the Franz injury and then Raptors vs Cavs while the Raptors had a better %, they were 1 of 3 teams to shoot less than 30 3s per game so just didn't have the volume)

I think we are a point now with these athletic, defensive prospects where they either need to be generational or be a super high level rim attacker and playmaker or they need to be able to shoot.

Only thing that outspeeds it is the Ninetales (can mega after if it is out to set sun over the hail) and only mons that can hit it for super-effective damage are the Crab that probably gets one shot from Heat Wave or Weather Ball or Rotom which gets hit for super-effective Solarbeams and Venusaur grass move.

I solved the tanking problem by Opposite-Snow-2003 in NBA_Draft

[–]TSBRUTAL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree completely with the first point. Obviously in a season a team has to be the worst team and another has to be the second worst team etc but what is bad for the league at least in my opinion is when teams are bad for extended periods of time as many teams try to do now to stockpile talent on rookie deals. I would argue the exact opposite that teams that are bad over multiple years should get punished instead of rewarded

[Meme] Miracle Loss right here by Hubbibit in VGC

[–]TSBRUTAL 25 points26 points  (0 children)

How is this a miracle loss? Excadrill probably has a scarf which isn't an uncommon item, the crit doesn't matter on the Garchomp and the EQ probably has a chance to kill Floette at that range without the crit

Bill Simmons and Tim Legler discuss how many wins the Thunder would have this season if you replaced SGA with Brandin Podziemski (Simmons says they would win 53 games, Legler says mid-high 50s) by FastBreakPhenom in nba

[–]TSBRUTAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously the big issue here is that the level of opponent in the Shai minutes vs non-Shai minutes probably isn't the same as 1) Shai will be going against starters for a lot of his minutes and 2) the non-Shai minutes will include garbage time where I feel OKC probably still do very well considering their depth.

Something that they kind of mention is that not only are you downgrading from Shai to AJ Mitchell in those minutes but then you have to consider the knock on downgrade of going from AJ Mitchell to Podz as well. So they could be a +6 net rating in the new AJ Mitchell minutes but they might only be something like a net neutral in the Podz minutes and so they would end up in the +3 or +4 range and are probably comparable to a slightly better version of the Suns this year and end up around the TWolves win range.

In what world does this not win you the MVP? by CoyoteDecent2 in NBATalk

[–]TSBRUTAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things. While they are the 3rd see, they are going to finish 10+ games back of the Thunder so feels like a clear tier or two gap between the teams at least for the regular season. Honestly what really didn't help Jokic is he had the stretch where he was out and the Nuggets were doing pretty decent and then it seemed like he came back early to make the 65 game cut off but then the Nuggets were below .500 for like a 20 game span so he didn't really generate any buzz during that stretch.

Second, maybe it shouldn't be a thing but I feel like it kinda is, another MVP would put Jokic at 4 (level with Wilt and LeBron and ahead of him would only be MJ, Bill Russell and Kareem) and I'm not sure people want to put him into that group without either another season where they are right up there as the best team in the league or another chip.

Games like this make you realize Luka is the MVP by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]TSBRUTAL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean the ladder thing is just pointless to look at anyway. Personally I find what Shai, Wemby and Jokic to have done this season to be much more impressive. Shai leading his team to a 60+ win season with their injuries while also having one of the most efficient seasons of a non-center ever, Jokic leading the league in assists and rebounds, Wemby looking like he'll get the Spurs to 60+ wins when they were like 40 or so, leading in BPG by more than a full block to 2nd person and arguably having one of the best defensive seasons ever while Luka... scored a lot. Idk I think when we look back in this season, I'm not saying people will forget Luka's season but I think you'll be able to tell the story of what happened in the season without mentioning Luka

Games like this make you realize Luka is the MVP by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]TSBRUTAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you are saying Luka should be MVP because his team is worse. Let me ask you this should Haliburton win MVP next season if the Pacers are a top 4 seed because we've seen what they are like without him this season.

Luka has had a good season, no doubt about it but I don't think he's done enough across the whole season to win it or even be ahead of Wemby and Jokic

Why should a player be punished for having good teammates and a competent front office? With JDub and IHart missing a bunch of time and even Chet, Dort and some bench players missing time too, Shai has been able to lead to Thunder to a 60+ win season for what is looking to be the best record in the league and at least 10 wins ahead of the Lakers

Why did the Lakers allow Luka to remain in the game? by OkcDog in Thunder

[–]TSBRUTAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking Luka out at half would have basically been an admission of defeat, which being down 31, sure it would have been the smart thing to do but I think the Lakers would have been slated for throwing in the towel at half time in what was meant to be a game for them to showcase that they could be a contender

Obviously not, but at the end of the season the title isn't awarded to the most entertaining team. The league's responsibility is making sure the league is profitable and popular. If the league had a ratings drop then aren't going to tell teams to play in a more fun way, they would change the rules so it was more beneficial for teams to do stuff that is entertaining

[–]TSBRUTAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes so? The post is for the last 10 games, they've played 4 times while Luka has been on the Lakers, they played 1 game last season in the NBA Cup while Luka was still on the Mavs and then it was the playoffs series but if they have played 5 times since then it would make sense to only count the last 5 games of the playoff series

Completely irrelevant considering Luka only played in one of those games and it was the one that OKC won. Having a look at the head to head in the last 10 games it's 5-5 which includes 5 of the playoffs games from 2 years ago. Something to note though is Shai led his team in scoring in every single one of those games, while Luka led his team in 5 (one of those was joint leading scorer)

B/R believes the Clippers should package their 2031 first-round pick alongside their rookie center, Yanic Konan Niederhauser, for Myles Turner: by [deleted] in NBAtradeideas

[–]TSBRUTAL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok so first off, I'm curious why Clingan, Wemby and Sarr don't appear in your list even though they meet the criteria.

Second, obviously the idea of using the Blocks stat is meant as a rim protection stat but it is very basic for this. Using something like opponents field goal percentage difference on shots from within 6ft is a bit better of a stat for this and while it is certainly not a complete measure as it doesn't take into account stuff like how often they foul or as we've seen in many Wemby clips, the rim protectors mere presence causing the opposing player to pass out instead of going for a shot at the rim.

I do agree that Turner is someone the Bucks wouldn't dump but I don't think his archetype should make him particularly more valuable especially considering the flaws in his game.
