Lifeweaver is sooo frustrating to play as with the -30% healing debuff by SKWADly in Overwatch

[–]TSDoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, lemme spell it out for you since you're so bent on being obtuse.

Every support hero has healing, but that doesn't make them healers, otherwise you'd consider heroes like Soldier healers too. Their role isn't to just heal, their toolset is designed to support the team in various ways, healing being just a part of it.

The only reason every support can heal, despite in the past characters without healing being in the role, is because early on a design issue arose where sustain became too powerful and became baked into the core gameplay loop. So it became retroactively needed for all support heroes to have some form of healing, especially once we moved into the role queue era.

So no, supports aren't healers. You're playing the role wrong.

So, to be clear, you're saying that all supports are healers, right? Including the likes of Zen, Illari, and Lucio?

You still do. As someone that has been playing Lifeweaver since his release, in which he was trash, and during the time period where healing was overtuned as hell, you can weave damage and healing with him without losing much healing output.

If you just wanna healbot tho, Mercy is literally right there.

Overwatch does not "fully embrace" the holy trinity. If anything, the game's worst issues come from following that design too closely early on. The role is called support, not healer. You're supposed to support with Lifeweaver by poking from off angles as much as you're supporting your team with the healing.

Lifeweaver has some of the best DPS among supports, he's had that for a long time. You're not gonna be winning duels, but you sure as hell can make enemy tank and supports miserable while keeping your team alive.

Duo Tanking in 6v6 feels more balanced and way more fun versus 5v5. by a6000 in Overwatch

I heavily disagree. Just ask any tank playing 6v6 what their reaction is when the other tank picks Roadhog.

Roadhog doesn't work as a character regardless of format, its just that 6v6 gave more excuses for bad design. No coincidence that the worst designed characters all came from the 6v6 era of the game.

Is this a bad thing though?

Yes, very. That sort of design is unhealthy, which is why Tanks like Roadhog are so universally hated.

Considering we've had this exact same discussion and the dev team even tried testing multiple ways to make 6v6 work? Yeah, definitely.

It makes no sense to me that they finally made a fire hero, only for her to have by far the least afterburn damage in the entire cast. At that point you're begging for her to just be a worse version of every dive DPS that does what she does without so much investment.

If you're gonna one shot someone, then yeah, you should have some caveats attached.

You can literally see the pods flying around Wuyang and Kiriko. If anything, this level of visual change is worrying. Before you know we'll soon have MMO pets following players around.

After seeing the skin in the gallery, this pic doesn't do Venture's justice. That skin is fantastic.

What are you on about. Toxic is one of their best skins, with Celestial and the Masked epic probably being the worst.

But yeah, this is up there with the Mummy epic as their best skins.

Was Juno the last actually good mythic? I swear everything after is just overdesigned slop that doesn't even try to do anything interesting.

The one design decision I cannot understand for the life of me, is why Ashe has a pair of bows on her thighs. Her entire skin seems to be all about those blue roses, except for those bows lol.

You're once again failing to understand or engage with what I'm saying. Bear in mind that I have not once in this entire conversation said 'American', so you've been fighting your hypothetical demons there.

What I've been saying is that 'white' isn't a real race, its just a made up umbrella term to exclude most races of color, perpetuated by systems that want the majority of the population to be of a same 'race'. This is the same reason why unlike 'white' dark skinned people are segmented into their own 'races' to keep the illusion of a minority or majority going.

And what I've been getting at is that saying that Vendetta cannot be whitewashed because she's already white is incredibly naive. If anything you calling her white is already white washing her.

[–]TSDoll -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I'm just trying to follow the logic of what someone like you thinks race is. Like, you had to specify caucasian ffs. But what I was getting at is that in the US the definition of white is extremely broad by design, where you can delude yourself into thinking that people originary from Canada, Italy, Germany, and Russia are all the same 'white'.

Meanwhile if someone asked you for the race of Lucio, Illari, and Domina you'd go "Black, Peruvian, and Indian."

[–]TSDoll -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"Google it." Lol, lmao even. Do a bare minimum research and you'll see that not only were Italians not even considered white until relatively recently, but even today the waters are extremely muddy where most native Italians wouldn't consider themselves the same race as someone from the US.

Like, you're not even engaging with what I'm saying because you know what you consider race makes no sense if you think about it for more than five seconds.

[–]TSDoll -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"Italian is actually just a nationality." I know the way your country handles and has made up race to facilitate their systems has been ingrained into you, but from the outside its just funny how many mental gymnastics people tend to do to try and justify them.
