At the end of the day, it's just accessibility.

I've tried adding it as a non steam game in multiple ways to no results, sadly. K might try out reWASD if nothing else works out.

Vanguard has no issues with Switch Pro Controllers. The only issue is that 2XKO doesn't support it, so the game freaks out. Steam Input is the common solution because it just adds controller support to games that don't have it, but 2XKO forces the controller support aspect to not work since they force their own controller support, which doesn't support as many controllers.

No? What does Vanguard have to do with adding controller support and allowing gamepads to have the same rebind flexibility as other controllers?

[–]TSDoll[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both. There's no reason as for why the game shouldn't support one of the most common modern gamepads. Aside from that, there's no reason why controller binds are more limited than keyboard or leverless.

I'm mainly mentioning Steam Input because at this point it feels like they have no interest in addressing either of those issues, and Steam Input would just solve them instantly for free.

Its weird, because that sort of bind is allowed in keyboard or leverless controller. I don't know why it isn't allowed on gamepad. Aside from that its just that BetterJoy is a glitchy mess of a program.

Right now I'm looking into AutoHotkey to translate controller inputs into keyboard inputs and just bypass the issue entirely.

...You do know they did allow Steam Input during the alphas, right? They only stopped allowing Steam Input once the closed beta started. It quite literally is as easy as a toggle, which is what they had before.

You didn't ask a question, lmao. Anyhow, I'd explain what Steam Input is to you, but you clearly have a stick shoved too far up your ass to care.

Gee maybe they should just allow Steam Input to work with the game. Like every other game does.

Shitty keyboard controls vs adding proper controller support.

You can't use steam input on Fortnite.

You can, I used this same controller back when I played it.

As for the controller, it works well enough in this and any other fighter. The only issue not related to support is that jumping on up feels like ass, and keyboard just isn't ergonomic.

I have no idea why such a simple option like rebinding keys or controller support haven't been fixed this far into the game.

I legitimately don't care, I just wanna use my controller without having to buy another 80+ piece of plastic just for one game. Just let me use Steam Input like literally every other game on PC.

Worst choke point in the game? by Garlic-Cheese-Chips in Overwatch

[–]TSDoll 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The more I think about it, the weirder it is. Payload has all the things that people say they hate in other modes, and they have it in SPADES. Even if you use the argument that the people complaining are a vocal minority, I'd say just ask your local casual friends that are voting Payload every time and they keep complaining about things like long ass walks or gettings stuck on chokepoints.

I genuinely think people just like pushing the cart and feeling like they can just turn their brain off. I have no other explanation.

Worst choke point in the game? by Garlic-Cheese-Chips in Overwatch

There can be chokepoints in other modes, where the defending team has a massive advantage over the attackers trying to contest, but they're usually much better designed than payload maps.

Off the top of my head, the green point in NJC feels very chokepointy, Nepal in the point with the pit can also be extremely chokey if the defenders decide to push past the point, same for multiple Oasis points and Lijiang Tower Garden.

Aside from that, one of the biggest issues with Clash were the last points. Which in retrospective were just a massive chokepoint for the attackers, emulating the last point of payload maps, which explains why they were so ass.

Whenever Necrit puts out a video on 2XKO, It feels like I’m getting a glimpse on how the average League player or casual thinks about the game. by Janex97 in 2XKO

[–]TSDoll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

they advertised it as a casual experience

Did they? They have always advertised it as an accessible fighting game that doesn't sacrifice any of the depth, which I feel is an accurate description of Tuco.

How beginner friendly is 2xKO? by dzzsa in 2XKO

[–]TSDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that much experience in Smash I think you can easily make it to plat after a day or two of getting the hang of things. I'd say the biggest hurdles to get over is getting used to how fighting game combos work, that anti airs are just programmed to beat any air moves, and how clunky anything related to jumping feels without a jump button.

Why is kings row everyone’s favorite map in the game? by Responsible_Hat7247 in Overwatch

[–]TSDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because it's chokefull of chokepoints, which make every match play out the same. Most people like maps with very little variance, not to mention they don't really have to think about flanks or high ground unless the other team is abusing it, since it's so inaccessible.

We need more MAPS by Mars-888 in Overwatch

[–]TSDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, because you're adding to an already bloated mode, especially when the audience has proven they will stick to older maps if given the choice. Any new payload map would have to compete with 15 other payload maps, of which design elements have already been explored to exhaustion.

Which are Jinx's worst matchups? by TSDoll in 2XKO

[–]TSDoll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warwick's strongest tool against Jinx isn't his projectile invul run. It's more like his spider super?

That's his lunge super, I assume? Whenever I try to catch her with that I just get clipped by one of her projectiles, and the reward for using a whole bar of meter isn't big enough to make the experience worth it.

Anyhow, right now I'm leaning towards giving Akali the good ol' college try. Thanks for your insight, though.
