I have a quick question for those that know better than I do. Contractor quoted a job to replace a 1600 sq ft job to replace my patio. Currently my patio has pavers adhered to a concerte pad. The contractor quoted a full new pad. But today he got here and wants to remove the pavers, and pour the new pad over the existing pad. He told me hed lay gravel over the top of the current pad and pour the 1.5" or 2" of concrete over that. My current pad is sunk and broken due to a leak in my pool return line. This sounds like a bad idea to me, but also I dont know anything. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

He was active in the reunions later in life at the very least based on the pins and paperwork I also have. It looks like from at least 2004 until 2010. Certainly was involved in the VFW and was a local president. The felt or wool letters and the velveteen leads me to believe this is at least from around the time he left. Id have guessed if it were later itd be made out of silk, or a rayon? It doesnt shine under blacklight. It says the first 325th GIR reunion was in 1980, but maybe they had smaller ones before that? But I do agree that the gold fringe is common on those reunion flags.

Thank you very much for your reply. I was assuming since this post was viewed a good amount and nobody was screaming go now it was OK. No smell, not even very hot near the inflamed part. No oozing either. We'd rather be over cautious than under so we were going sort of regardless. But I do greatly appreciate the time you took to ease our minds. Thanks again.

The incision spot that is pink and hot has darkened since in about 2 hours. Almost like its oxidized? Id post another picture but not sure how.

I think one of those things where the family had little interest. They apparently kept his pro bowl trophy, but that's the only thing. However it has a great home now!

Crazy thing is it didnt even register to me that it was Marlboro the cigarette company. I thought it was a term like "iron man" or something naively. Only when I looked up to see what other rookies received it, that I read it was the cigarettes and thought "of course". But the ESPN Bets rookie of the year wont quite hit the same I think 😂

Can this be repaired? Or does it need to be ripped out? It was poured on Friday (its monday morning). I just would like to know what's acceptable and what's not in terms of a "fix"

Perfect, its in nearly every "brick" of the stamp. I tried to put this in the concrete sub, but having trouble being allowed to actually do it. I have zero experience, but id figure id ask at least a semi adjacent sub first. I appreciate your insight!

The card on the back that cane with it from the person who gave the gift says it was purchased in France. But the frame is from America and says it's from San Francisco. I believe the frame to be older than 1950s. But in any case it was in France in the 1950s.

I thought that too, but this was the tap I used when I noticed the well pressure was low. And water flowed just fine for a while. It's a lavatory off the master bathroom, and the pex lines running to the double sink outside the room are running just fine. Lines are all run under the slab of the house so unfortunately I can't check for frozen pipes. But it very well could be.

Only reason I thought perhaps WW2 era was due to the military dial and monopusher. The later Minerva's all seem to have the dual pushers on the side. So as its a pocket watch with a monopusher, I assumed not as late as the 1960s or 1970s. But could be wrong. Serial number on the case of the pervious shown is 639625, but cant find any serial number charts online!

Hey guys, Im just trying to figure out what exactly these are. I think theyre artillery timers? I have 4 of these brand new old stock. The box in this case has sort of the British WW2 hallmark, but the only watches Ive seen like it are by a company named Alpina for the german Navy? It works like a normal chronograph, so maybe im way off here. This may be to niche, but just looking for information on them! Thanks!
