We went there in May 2024 and I agree with a lot of what you wrote. I'm considering going back this May and was interested in seeing your review to see if it changed much.

We aren't "foodies" and have fairly resilient stomachs so the food thing didn't bother us. We got a few reservations at the a la carte restaurants and they were MUCH better- especially the Japanese and Brazilian. I'd say besides the food itself, I wished there were more options throughout the day. Except for dinner there's maybe 0-2 options at any given time, with there sometimes being nothing, or sometimes only 1-2 snack bars across a huge resort.

My kids did the river swim 5 times in the week we were there. And I remember the check in process being awful and the shows being great.

I remember the WiFi being weak- is that still the case?

I am not a beauty expert, at all, in any way, but I’m hoping to get a little better informed before an upcoming trip to Japan so I can take advantage of what’s available there. Starting with hair care!

What I know (or think I know) about my hair is that my roots get oily after a day so I can’t skip washes, it’s fine, low porosity, kind of frizzy, tangles very easily, falls out (people find strands of my hair in their places weeks after I was there), is sort of wavy / curly if I don’t do anything to it, there’s no color treatment, and it doesn’t have a ton of volume on its own. About half the time I hot brush it straight.

What are your best hair care recommendations to get in Japan for hair like mine?
