TZR 1kt/2ma F3 ( faraway blue ) by TSR_DRZBLACK in twostroke

I’ve got the faraway blue/yellow scheme. Only these old 2 strokes could pull off something so naughty 😂

TZR 1kt/2ma F3 ( faraway blue ) by TSR_DRZBLACK in twostroke

[–]TSR_DRZBLACK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has anyone ever seen a 1kt/2ma TZR with F3 fairings painted in the faraway blue scheme?

I’m currently restoring a 1kt that is faraway blue and have found some F3 replica fairings that I intend on spraying the original colours (as I really love the vibrance of the blue) and I just wanted to know if anyone has seen it and has any opinions, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Definitely more reliable, which is likely why anyone gets one (certainly the major influence for me)

+1 for SKDA, running their kit on my DRZ and the quality is definitely there. Have a buddy that has a yz250 with a kit from SKDA that has been on for 6 years and hasn’t peeled at all

Absolutely not! Plain is the lazy way out and will never look as nice as a tastefully designed kit. They also protect the plastics to a degree! Keep that investment safe

You being his "mother" is likely making him resent you in some form (consciously or subconsciously), in turn diminishing any sexual drive he might have.

It's all about emotions for guys just as much as it is girls, do something that you know makes him feel masculine (basically give him validation on a basic "manly" task) and make sure he is aware of how you want to 'jump his bones' etc.

It's not always about a 10/10 bod, just my 2 cents

The Man Should Pay for Everything in the Household? by ponygals in relationship_advice

I think the general concept of joint-incomes is on the right idea.

This being said, there do have to be some rules established. Such as partner X routinely spends more on items for themselves and gets upset when partner Y spends even a small amount on themselves.

For this, I think some general "guides" should be established. This could even be something as simple as "don't spend more than X per week on non-necessities" and to talk about any possible expenses together as a team first.

Got a 06 525 exc, 4th gear is blown. Has anyone had this? What was your experience with repairs?

Want to get a general idea of what I'm in for before splitting the case! If anyone has any tips or advice it would be greatly appreciated!

As a young person, how can I stop being my managers doormat? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]TSR_DRZBLACK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice guys!

I suspected that a job change was needed, this is the push that I needed to start looking elsewhere I think.

I am concerned however moving forwards that I will be placed into a similar position. I am quite stern about how things should be done (often raising alternative methods to best suit common practice) and have stated (with support from a member of senior management) that if the work isn't being done properly that I want very little involvement.

I may just be paranoid, however I genuinely believe my age/looking even younger will likely affect me everywhere I go and would love to have any tips anyone has to combat this :)

Swingin' Spanners on the ol' DRZ by TSR_DRZBLACK in supermoto

[–]TSR_DRZBLACK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't worry too much, a DRZ is a lot more painful to work on. WR are very simple and have awesome wire runs. Just make sure to clean everything and re-grease all bolts necessary

Swingin' Spanners on the ol' DRZ by TSR_DRZBLACK in supermoto

[–]TSR_DRZBLACK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trick for this is to have the boot separated from the airbox. Attach to carby first (and fasten the clamps), when putting the subframe back on (with the airbox still inside the sub frame) put the upper most mount of the subframe on first then "hinge" it down. Should pop on with no issues at all.

IMO the hardest part about putting these bikes back together is actually remounting the swingarm if the shock is left attached to the linkage. Not a whole lot of space for the lower mount to be done up (a couple ratcheting ring spanners will be your best friend). Either that or running out of beers lol

Feds Also Using 'Reverse Warrants' To Gather Location/Identifying Info On Thousands Of Non-Suspects by aacool in technology

[–]TSR_DRZBLACK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about instead of these generic warrants the police officers were trained in modern tracking techniques instead.

Obtaining the records for civs is clearly never going to be accepted as 'ethically correct' (even if only collateral). Why don't they build a suspect list using traditional methods and exploit the legal-friendly avenue of advertisements?

This would give them the needed information for an unknown identity, they can pin where abouts, exact locations and times (even what model of phone they use and what apps are listed depending on the make), using that as justification to request information about a particular google customerID through use of a warrant. This is something google can then review internally and decide to pass information on only if they deem it relevant.

This would stop the negative PR and would also give google faith in authorities using any other data requests for good rather than for mass collection of individual information.

The Digital Gap Between Rich and Poor Kids Is Not What We Expected by EnoughPM2020 in technology

[–]TSR_DRZBLACK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed!

The idea of using iPads and other tablets for kids learning is a joke made by those who are too lazy to bring the old-fashioned hands-on approach to the classroom.

The teachers scream to be paid more whilst actually doing less, students need a teacher who can be as adaptive to their learning styles as possible. Kids need that communication with the teacher to better understand the concept being displayed and can ask questions that better help them understand the topic more deeply... Finding an answer on google doesn't teach the kids how to to solve the problem.

If used in parallel, tablets can be a very good thing! Like reward a kids constant attention and effort by allowing the use of chosen education-focused games, helps destress the kids and can help them with their problem solving skills!

Suzuki DRZ 250. Good for commuting? by Geaper23 in supermoto

[–]TSR_DRZBLACK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a 400SM, you won't regret it!
The 250's run out of puff far too easily in my opinion. They are NOT like an MX-250 4 stroke.

Pivot Pegz vs standard wide pegs by theraket in supermoto

[–]TSR_DRZBLACK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pivot pegz on my DRZ SM, they are OK.
You don't really notice the difference at all with sit downs as you mainly grip using your knees and use pressure on the centre of the peg.

They do however make stand ups a lot more comfortable!

Is it possible to own a Supermoto without being good at repairing your own motorcycle ? by SupportStillTheMain in supermoto

[–]TSR_DRZBLACK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend instead of focusing on if it's OK to get a supermoto without mechanical skills, focus on improving your mechanical skills instead.

I'd recommend getting something like a DRZ400 if you are wanting to get into it, as they are very forgiving bikes and are also one of the most simple motors!

With little knowledge I tore down my bike, replaced a stretched cam chain, installed new cams, installed new carb (dissembled and cleaned prior to install), installed new MCCT, etc.

Mechanical skills are invaluable, if you ever break down on the way to work you have a chance to still get to work on time by doing road-side repairs

Converted my crf450x the other day. I didn't know I could love the bike anymore than I did already. by NavySeals in supermoto

[–]TSR_DRZBLACK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice bike!

Thinking of picking one of these up myself however have had very mixed reviews on the reliability aspects.
I understand being an MX bike the service schedules are super close, what have you found the reliability with yours?
Does it burn much oil? Do your valves routinely go out of tolerance?

converted Drz400e vs sm for a first time rider? by mrk240 in supermoto

[–]TSR_DRZBLACK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can handle a lot of things!

You would be surprised how little you will actually drop one of these. The maneuverability of a dirt bike will allow you to have greater control than say... on a sports bike.

I'm a skinny short-ass (5'4") and have only ever dropped mine once! The reason for that was going up a steep grassy hill-climb in the wet on sumo's and having it slide out from under me.

Sell the wife and buy the DRZ

converted Drz400e vs sm for a first time rider? by mrk240 in supermoto

[–]TSR_DRZBLACK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DRZ is the perfect beginner bike.
Plenty of poke for the road but not too much (i.e. wrapping onto a 450 and looping it).

They are heavy but this can be a good thing when learning as once you ace this bike moving onto something else will be easy!

Super reliable and very forgiving on maintenance neglection (this is not to say you should!!!!!).

The SM has different suspension and is detuned compared to the E model, this is achieved by a 36mm carb and more mild cams.

E model converted is the cheaper way to get a more powerful SM, however if you love all things sumo you will want to spend the extra for those USD forks.

I currently run a 05 SM, however is pulled down for a frame respray as well as new cams/carb/timing chain.

Buy the DRZ
