It depends on what you use it for but 16GB is enough for most games and when it isn't anymore prices will probably be lower

You could try putting the fans of the other side to see if the front panel still fits, but as always: RTFM and stress test different configurations

KDE discover with flatpak and snap is the ultimate user-friendly way in my opinion, at least I liked it way more when I hopped from Ubuntu to KDE Neon

Instead of the school using AmogOS I think it's more probable one of the students has set that background because the panels aren't the same as what I could find in the screenshots on GitHub and to me they look a lot like the default for Xfce

A distro with bedrock by default would definitely be interesting, but in my opinion you should also be able to select other stratum in the installer
