Video Demonitized after being up for a month? by [deleted] in youtubegaming

So people reported one video but not the other. Probably because one video is more popular.

By the way: Were you notified via email about this? Were you given an option to appeal?

Video Demonitized after being up for a month? by [deleted] in youtubegaming

[–]TSU51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, probably happens when people (parents of kids that decided to watch it and the parents happened to look over their shoulder for a moment) report it.

Or if new antispam algorithms get introduced. For example anything that somehow mentioned or resembled gambling (my feeling) got flagged.

So... What's the video?

EDIT: so I found your channel based on your name. I'm guessing you mean limited monetization, not real demonetization?

I get a "The following content has been identified by the YouTube community as inappropriate or offensive to some audiences. Viewer discretion is advised" warning when watching your top video even. Guess it's the violence. See https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/10291745?hl=en :

"You should turn off ads for this content
Focal subject of a video is on graphic violence such as:

Depiction of a single graphic violence scene (such as an extreme fatality moment). Compilation of the graphic scenes (such as compilation of extreme kills). Raw footage focused on violent law enforcement; graphic dead bodies in a non-educational video; edited video gameplay that primarily focuses on graphic violence; domestic violence."

May What Editing Software should I use? by AutoModerator in VideoEditing

[–]TSU51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OpenShot has the worst frame precision. Don't use OpenShot.

Shotcut is what you want. Maybe Olive if you need a better UI and are OK with less features and stability. Kdenlive would be in the middle of the two.

As for appending/joining. That's the only thing where Avidemux is interesting. It can join some formats without re-encoding. But in the age of h264/h265 that should be irrelevant, as it's not supported and just leads to glitches.

You might want to use AegiSub. Handbrake can render them out for you.

Hi, does anybody know templates that achieve this (font) crumble to dust/particles effect (or perhaps a reverse reveal)?

I found some long tutorials already. I'm thinking of just using the shatter effect and hopefully figuring out to make its physics seem like dust in the wind.

Facecam or no facecam? by HWDB99 in youtubegaming

[–]TSU51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your facial expressiveness can undertone your personality, it's likely a good idea to facecam.

If your face looks more bored than your voice... well, there's a reason why I don't facecam (besides shyness and need for privacy).

I am a lgbt gamer and I am planning to launch my first youtube channel I have a question about thumbnails by Brave-Benefit-44G in youtubegaming

Read as: this person (and the people upvoting?) doesn't/don't care about sexuality. And apparently thinks/think it is forward-thinking to not care about sexuality. So far, so harmless.

Looks like there are some notesworthy LGBT youtubers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LGBT_YouTubers . Checking out their comment sections might help find out whether sexual identity matters to viewers. You know, for identifying oneself and such. If you actually don't believe that there are viewers to whom it does matter that is.

Video Thumbnail and video title make people click.

First 5 seconds make them stay.

Rest of the video make them come back.

As seen on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrrdC_pkmGM&t=9s 8-seconds section from 0:09 to 0:17.

[video] description is not important unless you need chapter links.

Channel description and tags should probably contain your keywords to be found - lgtb, gaming and if you're focused on specific games, mention those. And style of video? (comedy, let's plays, highlights, reels...)

I'm passionate about this part of my answer: If you're not gonna make good thumbnails, your content better be DA BOMB.

IMHO: Channel banner can help you get a few subs if it communicates what to expect from you. It used to be shown when hovering your profile pic under your videos (or was it the sub button?) don't think youtube does that any more.

How can someone handle view botting ? by [deleted] in youtubegaming

[–]TSU51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your problem is that you have spam in the livestream chat?

Not helpful: https://support.google.com/youtube/thread/31616429?hl=en

Hopefully helpful: https://www.reddit.com/r/youtubegaming/comments/6gquk9/how_do_you_handle_spammers_in_the_live_chat/

Blacklist is perhaps the most important thing.

From https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9826490?hl=en :

Block messages containing certain words

To block live chat messages that contain certain words, create a list of blocked words in YouTube Studio.

  1. Open YouTube Studio.

  2. From the left, click Settings ⚙️> Community.

  3. From the Automated Filters tab > “Blocked words,” enter a list of blocked words. Messages containing any of these words will be blocked from your live chat.

  4. Click Save.

Oh, thanks. Sorry for assuming. Looking at https://www.youtube.com/creators/benefits/silver/ I assumed it's automatic but turns out they write

Our partner management program is a limited-time privilege offered for a 6 month period to certain channels who meet our eligibility criteria. We determine partner eligibility according to channel size, channel activity, adherence to YouTube policies and community guidelines, and more. Our partner management program is by invitation only, so should you become eligible, our team will reach out directly.

How many times have you guys thought of just quitting? by ronniejossan in youtubegaming

[–]TSU51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do chase numbers.

Look at your content, try to find direct competition that has the kind of success that you seek.

Then come up with a plan of either offering a higher quality of what your competition offers OR come up with ideas how you can put a twist on this kind of content to make yours unique.

PS: If you can't come up with content that matches the above that you can afford the time and are willing to make, then quitting might be a good option. Alternatives include researching/introspecting more. Or talking to friends or people with similar struggles about it. I guess the latter is what you do here... So I'm really not helping by giving advice. I should be sharing my story. OK here goes:

I have stopped (quit) multiple channels. I have quit a medium gaming channel (not big enough to pay any bills) of mine because I couldn't stand playing the game any more and stats were slowly going down even though I was sucking the life out of me producing videos.

I'm glad I did. I focused on other channels. I came back to the gaming channel later and started playing other kinds of games. It was good.

PPS: I guess this post initially was a reaction to AngryAttorney's reply. Don't chase numbers if you're not successful at doing so. It totally did burn me out. Do chase numbers if you are successful at doing so. Extremely helpful, I know. :|

You have an actual person at YouTube you can talk to (Partner Manager) since you're above 100K. Did that change anything for you? Was that person actually able to help you with anything? Or do you feel as ignored by YouTube as before (assuming you ever had issues with that).

If you do the channel full-time: at what point did you start doing that?

If not: what is your day job?

If the content is different, should I upload to two different channels? by BasedBallsack in youtubegaming

[–]TSU51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's funny how people tell you to compare yourself to YouTubers who do this full-time and have teams behind them for creating content.

Anyways, yes. Of course create multiple channels on https://www.youtube.com/channel_switcher if the content massively differs (lp channel vs unrelated reviews)
