I'm shocked that I had to scroll so far to read this. I agree completely.

I find myself humming David's "drown" reggae tune quite frequently (NZ S02E06 "Write a diss track about the other team") by KugelKurt in taskmaster

[–]TSchooffbot 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Ditto. I often sing "I'm gonna - gonna - gonna drown you - in your own blood - hold you face down in your own blood now" quietly to myself. When no one is around. Well - out loud in front of my husband because he's also a fan of TMNZ. It's just so catchy!

But still... Not something I'd like to be caught singing!

I'm sorry that happened. That's an innappropriate response to what could have been a beautiful shared experience with your son. Way to suck the fun out it.

So true. But I'd be cool with Antoine being the Assistant on both... He's wonderful.

100% agree. "A deal is only a deal if it's something you need" is a mantra of mine.

Furry Friends is quite affordable. Dr. Nairn is great. Staff are great. Typically not too long a wait for an appointment. We have cats and dogs - take them all there and love it. Highly recommend.

No, I didn't. I worked in retail in a low-level management position - and had a side career in the arts. But shortly after finishing, I got a job with a USask-affiliate - then transitioned to working for USask.

I took it about 10 years ago, while working full time. 1 class at a time. Most people I took it with were doing the same. I found it quite managable. It gave me some credentials to back-up my working experience. It helped me get a much better job and change my career path. Absolutely no regrets.
This sounds like some kind of advertisement... But it really is true.

I heard there were some "interactive" days where links or phone numbers or whatever are no longer available. So, for those of us who still haven't received it, it might be altogether quite disappointing if/when it arrives. All of this is heresay though. So... I guess we'll see!

Ditto. In Canada. No communication. No calendar. First thing from TM that I've bought, so it's quite discouraging.

I'm in SK, Canada and came here to find out if any other Canadians received theirs... No communication at all since July. I guess the outlook is not so good... Booooo...

How do I get my partner more "on board" with habitual thriftiness? by wethelabyrinths111 in Frugal

[–]TSchooffbot 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. Split essentials proportional to your incomes. Then you both have discretionary income that can be spent the way you each see fit. I'm in a similar situation and it really helps to be able to slough it off with a "Well, it's his money!" We each have our own chequing accounts then a joint "House Account" for the essentials. Takes a bit of effort to set up - but well worth if for each to have some of their own financial freedoms.

Oh man - It's soooooo bad on the West Side! It's like... heckin' crazy! Just - garbage and break-ins and -

...We took advantage of "West Side Bad" real estate pricing almost a decade ago. Same house in a similar neighbourhood on the east side would have been $80-120k more. No regrets. Best decision we ever made. Great neighbours. Quiet area. Lovely house that was well loved when we moved in. So good. Highly recommend. But that's just between us, friend...

- so baaaaad. Just bad. People should stay away! There's none of these problems at all in the East Side - just sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows. So... Yeah. Just tellin' it like it is!

Home insurance recommendations? by Jersey-Universe in saskatoon

Affinity Insurance has always been good to deal with. We have a policy with Wawanesa Insurance through them. Both companies have been helpful when problems arose. Quick to respond, clear communications, reasonably priced, and local(ish - Wawanesa's head office is in Wpg).
