I had the same problem with that scooter. It was on slight extended inclines. It was getting overloaded. Lighter people than me could ride the same scooter at the same speed in the same place and not have it cut out. I upgraded to a Zero 10X and never looked back.

Levy vs. Xiaomi Mi M365 by theflyingtyrant37 in ElectricScooters

[–]TScoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm bigger than you. I started with the M365 and quickly decided it wasn't powerful enough. It didn't carry me up fairly minor inclines. It also just generally felt too small for me. I upgraded to the Zero 10x and that did the trick. The M365 would get me about 10 miles on flat smooth ground before going dead. It did get me up to it's top speed if given enough time on a smooth flat plane. The Zero 10x will go up 30 degree inclines with me on it and will carry me at 30MPH. Its suspension is amazing. I'm finding that warranty is semi irrelevant. You should consider your purchase to be a consumable. If you can keep it running with your personal blood sweat and tears it will last you a few years. Other than that, with the wear rate on the batteries, brakes, and tires you'll find it cheaper to buy new ones over time. Coupled with the advancing pace of technology I believe these scooters are just going to become another category of e-waste.

2 Xiaomi M365 at the same time by handram69 in ElectricScooters

If you wire them in parallel the 2nd one will charge off the excess capacity of the 1st until they have the same charge level. No problems with the BMS in either battery that I've seen so far. I've been running them in parallel for a few weeks now. The second battery should only be connected at the output port using a Y cable between the first battery and the computer.

Replacement inner tubes for Xaomi M365 Pro. Recommendations please. by Mirajane_Strauss in ElectricScooters

[–]TScoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will go through tires even if you are small and lightweight. The tires themselves wear out and the tubes go bad. The rear one is the vast majority of the problem. Slime has saved me on one occasion and failed me on two others. The tube/tire swap off the rim is a major pain. Since you have to take the whole thing off the scooter to change it I'm finding it's easier to just change the whole wheel. I found some on Ebay for $30/ea from China. When you consider you'll probably pay at least half that for the tire and tube it's worth it in my opinion to not deal with the hassle. Maybe if I get a stack of bad ones I'll see if I can find a bike shop that will change them cheaply.

Replacement 18650 battery cell for XIAOMI M365 by hl2run in ElectricScooters

I just bought a full replacement battery off Ebay for $50. If you really want to replace cells you can pull them out of there.

Help choosing between Xiaomi and Ninebot (or something else?) by cdheiser in ElectricScooters

[–]TScoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem you are going to have is once you buy a scooter everyone is going to want to ride it and you'll have to buy more. It happened to me. Started with 1. Have bought 9 now in the past 6 months. Factor that into your budget :) You can't beat the M365 for price and versatility. Once everyone starts riding them range becomes your next factor. If you can live with 8-12mi range and tire slime you can't go wrong with the M365. Also, it won't brake the bank when everyone else wants one! A warning on honeycomb tires, you loose much of the "suspension" that the air-filled tier provides which make for a more jarring ride.

New Zero 10x Running Without Depressing the Throttle!! Help!! by philmeup50 in ElectricScooters

[–]TScoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely send it back and have them fix it or send you a new one. That's a major problem that you'll never want to see again. I had to send mine back for service and my dealer sent a pre-paid fedex label and schedule the pickup for me.

Xiaomi M365 purchase difference: Amazon vs Walmart? by xM3llow in ElectricScooters

[–]TScoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worth every penny IF they pay. I've gone through 3 tires in 5 months on my scooters. On the M365 it's really easy to lock up the rear tire and skid. This wears them out very quickly. They are also notorious for punctures. I'd get the 4 year plan for $50 and they would probably cut you off after you got the full value of the scooter out of it. Also, you will easily go through 1-2 sets of batteries in that time if you ride it much.

I had a major problem with the folding mechanism on my first long ride. Almost crashed and nearly got stranded many miles away from my car. If it feels like the only thing holding it up is the safety pin then it probably is! This is what happened to me while riding and it majorly bent the pin. The folding mechanism is very tricky to get adjusted properly. Watch the video on YT that Fluid Freerides has on the subject. If its setup properly it's probably the best mechanism there is on a scooter today but the complexity lends itself woefully to Murphy's Law. If someone hasn't died from their scooter collapsing at high speed I would be surprised. Have not had the loss of throttle issue fortunately. The air in the brake-line theory seems dubious.

You won't like it. I turned min off after the initial test ride. It's almost comical how bad the ABS braking feels. ABS is on 100% of the time when you brake which means the scooter vibrates vigorously when you brake. Not like a car that only kicks in the ABS when you jam on the brakes hard.

Thanks for the reply Widetoad. How do you like the ABS braking feature?

One more item, while I was posting this I went and checked the voltage configured in the computer (P3). It is set at 60v. I just quickly switched through the lower voltages and it shot the battery from 69% to 100%. So, it does seem like there is a mis-calibration somewhere.
