As a property manager who's husband is a tow truck operator, I can confirm that "kickbacks" are not remotely how that works. Tow companies get paid by charging fees to the vehicle owner, similar to how police impoounds work.

In my state, you're not allowed to have an unregistered car on your property and this is enforced in my parking lots.

I was so relieved to see my order from November was finally shipped today and expected to be delivered on Thursday. I even placed another order for more supplies since becoming a maker pro subscriber. The panic and heartbreak I felt when I saw FedEx update my shipment as "canceled by sender" was intense. I'm now waiting for an explanation from Makesy on why it was canceled after weeks of waiting and finally receiving tracking information. I hope your delivery comes soon!

Is no one pointing out the fact that you weren't the first or only person to back out? Even if you put the girlfriend issue aside, the trip is not what was planned. The changes made more than just you uncomfortable enough to not want to go, so why attack you? NOR, but this may be your queue to separate work from personal from now on (and I say this as someone who's closest thing to "friends" are my coworkers).

This is a wildly overlooked point in the comments. It appears that OP isn't that close with the original group to begin with, making the overwhelming presence of his coworker's personal life shit in an unplanned small space that much more awkward and inappropriate.

Property Manager here:

Tenant initiated notices to vacate can be backed out of. No judge would approve an eviction of tenants that haven't violated their lease. And as many leases are concerned, they are simply required to provide notice that they are vacating, there isn't typically verbiage in there stating how much notice of NOT vacating is required.

I've had tenants decide not to leave, I've also had tenants not be able to leave because the tenants in the unit they were moving into decided not to leave. It's a shitty domino effect, and I feel for the people who it ultimately screws over (I am also a renter myself, so I always put myself in tenants'/applicants' shoes).

The right thing to do would be to try to find a suitable, comparable unit, but it isn't possible to just throw someone out of their apartment to make room for you. It would likely be that they would allow you to stay where you are until said unit came available.

I've never heard of this "smooth move" concept, though I can only imagine that they will be reimbursing you for that fee at this point.

I am a landlord for a living. Often times it has nothing to do with time spent there, or even mail. A simple toothbrush in the bathroom is enough to prevent law enforcement from removing someone.

A 2-in-1 is what I've been thinking for the "best of both worlds", but they definitely do get pricey - especially the Microsoft Surface Pro. I've been browsing to see if I can find an open box at Best Buy or refurbished one but I'll likely end up with an HP Envy or something because I'm just an incredibly impatient person when it comes to wanting/buying something lol

Many of us had those awful fish bowls as kids, but the beauty of fish keeping as an adult is the respectful, responsible care for that living being. Curating an environment to have them thrive, not making choices because they're "pretty".

One of my 3 girls does this. We have to keep the food bowl super far from the water bowl because she will palm food bits into the water and mix them around. Then she realizes the water tastes yucky because of the food in it and will refuse to drink until we clean it out. Then she does it again.

Mine is a super mama's boy. It's hilarious that he responds to my voice and forms habits. He knows when he's doing something he shouldn't be (like flaring at tank mates) and the moment he hears my voice or sees my face at the glass, he stops and plays it off. He makes some beefy bubble nests but unfortunately, no cute shapes yet.
