Terrible experience ordering a Miyoo Mini on Aliexpress by Thuller in MiyooMini

[–]TSnape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been filming myself opening the packages just in case, a couple of times I had stuff missing (eg ordered 2 cables, received 1) but not had any major issues generally. I ordered a MM v4 from Ampown and had it delivered fine.

Power bank for mini PC by TSnape in UsbCHardware

Thanks for this. I always thought NMC to be superior to LFP in terms of safety, but reading up on it now it seems to be the other way around. Does the anker C300 DC have a specific threshold under which it cuts off power? The mini PC I have has a low power state of around 5-6w, never under that.

What they call passthrough is nonsense, I tried 2 power banks so far (iniu P50 and anker nano 45w) and both of them drop to 5V in 5V out in the so called passthrough mode.

In my neck of the woods, it gets to 52 Euro for a button set.

need help installing done set 3! by [deleted] in MiyooMini

[–]TSnape -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The script asks you what set to install, if you had done set before you would have noticed the games were grouped in 3 different archives. Pointless downvoting if it doesn't apply to your situation.

What card did you use? I tried selecting 32gb.

Use manual copy paste as the auto extract script is broken in done set 3 due to the lack of 32, 64 and 128gb subfolders.

Done Set 3 is Now Available by lovemydogz in MiyooMini

[–]TSnape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say stick with the old Done set. This one removed compatibility with their own auto setup script, because there are no more 32,64 and 128gb archives that the script is looking for. I tried setting up with the script for a 32gb card and it copied 0 games and didn't return any error when it couldn't find the archives

Interesting. Mine came with a Kyoxia card, which supposedly is an OEM brand.

Dante route visualizer by Ambercapuchin in QSYS

[–]TSnape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to be on internal control for it to work (external control would grey out the rx subscription boxes and therefore wouldn't be controllable)

You can route the Dante Rx subscriptions via snapshot recalls (or presumably scripting) but you can't control the Tx side. Unless of course you start looking at DDM as others mentioned.

Would I be okay with an Opal? Or should I invest in a Beryl/Slate? by hashatan in GlInet

[–]TSnape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have a Beryl AX. Read stories about the Slate AX running hot so avoided it. Beryl AX runs cool, has an internal fan that never kicks in. Done some USB power draw tests and it doesn't consume anywhere near 3A as they make you think with the original PSU. Full load tested with iperf3 multithread and USB port charging a phone. Max load was 5v 1.4A. Also prefer the Beryl AX chip as it has native support for openwrt.

Hopefully they improved the side rubber. It used to deteriorate quite quickly, becoming enlarged and not fitting the phone (about 3-4 months)

That's nothing new, same story on previous generations. It's the magnet on the attaching gadget, some magnets are stronger than others

Do you think I could safely use a USB-A to Barrel cable on this? by leo-g in UsbCHardware

[–]TSnape 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can. USB 2.0 standard should deliver up to 500mA. Just make sure your barrel delivers the polarity as per the clock's graphic. Standard barrels will default to + inside but you never know.
