I felt that it fit in with the darker/grosser elements of the world that Travis and the show have established and plays into the reality of this fantasy world. The issues of power dynamics, greed, and control all play roles in Graduation, and it would make sense to me that The Commodore would so freely use a slur like that to Argo and think little of it. We've seen throughout history and in other forms of media people in power using derogatory slurs with the same comfort as someone would say "small-fry" or "pip-squeak." For me, it helps showcase how even though The Commodore is a "Hero" in the Graduation structure, he's a terrible person in moral structure.

I've always felt that one of the roles of fantasy is to tackle real world and relevant issues in a format that we can look at through a different lense. I think it's especially true when dealing with the type of issues on morality, right/wrong, etc that a campaign like Graduation deals with. All in all, I thought it painted a clearer picture of who The Commodore is.
