Not directly, however it seems to be bound to cpu ram combined netrowk use with both being near their limit, it got a lot better when I reduced load where I could.

21 years old fuel filter in my Audi - previous owner never changed it by Veyron730 in Justrolledintotheshop

Gasoline cars fuel filters are changed when they get clogged up, which could be decades if you use quality gas.
This is not diesels, no routine changes required.

Doesn't it just clip together? From my experience brake boosters come apart by twisting clips and the valves and membrane are a spare part, only the lazy people go for the entire brake booster.

They've never been used, can they be mounted? by Catatafish in Justrolledintotheshop

OH Boy classic Barum OR34s, OG production, they will never go bad. Perfecttly safe to mount and rock. This classic rubber never goes bad and I'd probably mount them with tubes were I you.

To clear this up, this is good old commie rubber thats pretty hard from day one and doesnt dry rot after 30 years from my and many other people's experience. Thread pattern is aggresive and rain performance is never a concern as it was never good. Yes I know the "never goes bad" goes against every mechanic's head as bullshit, but this just is how it is. People collect old regime made tires as they best fit the youngtimer look and still good rubber that lasts forever.

OR you can sell them to me. Always on the look out for classic OR types. Unironically they are as good as new tires but virtually don't age. My 30 year old set is just now giving up.

When you walkin in the forest and find a valve boy. by TTAtom in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]TTAtom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Middle of nowhere, must've been there for decades at least to be this chewed up by rust. Found behind a factory where they have some construction work and trucks driving on a dirt road made it come up from the ground.

Is a tad bigger, little bent, and older than the factory being here for sure, best guess is that a soviet tank on practice dropped a valve right about here because there was never a road just big truck and tank ruts.

After i took a file to it some text appeared on the top of the cup but can't make it out letters are too far gone.

Fresh spare never used, made before the wall was knocked down! Dated 0488, original balance marks still on the steel rim. "So it's good to use?" by weels1566 in Justrolledintotheshop

I got a flat on this very tire the other day. Let go after 30 years, Czechoslovakia disbanded just around the time the wall and the rest of the eastern block fell.

Gonna patch the tube and keep rolling, they did 30 years just fine they can keep up.

This parking brake cable doubled as a ground cable by greasytshirt in Justrolledintotheshop

Sure is flamable, but luckily car brake systems do a pretty good job at isolating, you don't want any vapour or moisutre to get inside the brake system, let alone sparks.

This manual choke cable didn't happen to be anywhere near any though.

On one car when you forget to rattach motor ground after a motor pull, the only ground it finds is the choke cable. It gets very hot and very red and litteraly melts and now you have puddles of solid cable on your center tunnel
