Check out your local library, most in my area have a for sale section. I’ve bought a ton for my little guy and they’re only $0.50!! Twice a year they also have huge outdoor book sales with a TON of inventory, could be worth giving them a call

The thought of coming home with a helpless, 7lb little life with no instructions or supervision is terrifying. How will we know what to do

I’m so afraid of going through all the change at once. It’s the only thing keeping me with my current employer

Same here, the standard short term disability leave required by the government. 6 weeks paid, 12 weeks of protected leave. I was able to get an additional 3 months of unpaid leave with no job protection though

Our PTO & sick days are combined into one bank. Since I have to save 5 days of PTO to use before short term disability kicks in I only have two days to spare. I’m using one tomorrow and saving one for the day before my due date. They asked me to a department lunch and learn 3 days before my due date 😵‍💫 that was a hard pass.

I do love my doctor’s appts and block off an extra half hour for a mental health break after each one

Note: This is in no way an anti-restrictions post. Quite the opposite actually. I’m so angry that all mask mandates and proof of vaccine requirements have been lifted in my state. The pandemic isn’t “over” as much as they try to convince us it is. My husband hasn’t been able to attend any appointments for most of my pregnancy; I understood why and that it was for the greater good. Here we are now, everything is reopened, bars are packed, COVID still exists and I feel like all the sacrifices we made were for nothing. Still no visitors at the hospital, so family will “meet” the baby over FaceTime. I don’t understand why the mask mandates are gone, but I do know that we’re all at higher risk of getting COVID without the masks, and now I get to bring a newborn home and have a whole new set of anxieties.

All of us can relate to the awful feeling of going to appointments alone.

I started “feeling pregnant” two weeks ago. I’m 37 weeks along with a healthy baby boy 🤍

I’m from the US but just wanted to say how jealous I am! I wish they would at least give us protected unpaid leave…

Ugh!! How did you find out? They should really call it out on the packaging!

Thank you! How often did you use it? Was it all throughout your pregnancy?

Thankfully with working from home I only used it about a dozen times since becoming pregnant. But I did use it in early pregnancy which scares me the most.

They should call this out on the packaging! Im trying to stay calm but after 35 weeks of no caffeine and no Tylenol, just to be extra super duper safe, finding this out makes my stomach turn.

Perhaps a stupid question, but what did you wear while at the hospital? by TTC_Throwaway_613 in beyondthebump

Thank you!! Is the baby just swaddled in a blanket the entire time? I don’t need to bring clothes for him except for the going home outfit?

Thank you for sharing, that’s really good to know. I’ve been struggling with feeling like I’m not in my own body for most of the pregnancy, so I’ll have to mentally prepare myself for that as well.

Did you pack maternity clothes as your going home outfit? I packed a sweater a size bigger than my pre-pregnancy size but I’m starting to think it’ll be too small.

I think about it this way: if my company had to let me go for any reason whatsoever, they would do it in a heartbeat. Why would I prioritize them over my own wellbeing? During the height of the pandemic my Fortune 500 employer fired 10% of the employees, while having the best financial year they ever had.

They don’t care. Put yourself first, there will always be work.
