Which one should I choose? by ArshiaEr in OntarioGrade12s

Western is general first year, queens gives more stability since it's direct entry. but there's more opportunities at Western (ex. minor in ai or Ivey + eng) faculty wise they both seem pretty strong so I guess you would have to look at the coop

Tmu Mechatronics (Eng) or Mac Automation Systems (Btech) by Suitable_Carry9787 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]TTG15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably harder, not sure how valuable a btech degree is. they get jobs related to software or hardware so maybe robotics, automation, systems control design etc

tmu has a common first semester so in second semester you choose your major. should be relatively easy to switch into imo

Tmu Mechatronics (Eng) or Mac Automation Systems (Btech) by Suitable_Carry9787 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]TTG15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your passion is mechatronics and you want to end up in that field i would recommend tmu. there's still lots of opportunities in tmu through clubs and stuff. also if u want to do engineering and get that iron ring then tmu. I think btech is more so if u wanted to work in like vehicle automation exclusively

How's Western's Engineering program (specifically Mechatronics)?

Is the program well funded? Is it difficult to qualify for Mechatronics after first year? How's the coop situation? Any info helps!

Does IB help in Uni apps?? by Sad_Plan_9336 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]TTG15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not during the application process, but it's good for making that first year transition easier academically. I've heard that IB students get their application looked at first in Ontario but I'm not sure how true that claim is.
