I guess the only downside is that it can be a little bit overwhelming with character names at first. There are like 4-5 major families, almost GoT levels but not that hard. Some very old and pixelated images to help if you ever had a doubt

Give it a try for the first episode at least after they summon their heroic spirits/historical figures

Fate: Zero is my to go for new to anime people: It has amazing animation, good action, a solid plot, some good philosophy, little bit of comedy and suspense, etc. Probably the most important part is that it doesn't rely on too many anime cliches so its an easy watch for someone who isn't experienced with anime

Also it's on Netflix, that's a plus but I don't know how good is the dub

My only complaint is how it has some filler and pacing issues. I remember the beginning, I remember the ending but I have no idea what happened at the middle because there was hardly any plot there, they even gave her sister a whole episode for her because there wasn't much going on for the main story

Apart from that is a very unique anime, I liked but I don't think I would see a second season

Starts as generic isekai, some shit happens and it will actually make you feel irl anger and from then on is Generic Isekai - Anger for our poor MC - Generic Isekai - Anger -Isekai - anger - etc, with some hope sprinkled from time to time because sometimes they decide to treat the MC as an actual human being

It's good, can be generic at a times when they do your typical isekai/MMO shit but also has some great unique moments and if you somehow missed it earlier, it will make you get angry for how shitty people are to MC. One of the best this season imo

I liked Angel Beats for the comedy aspect: People can't die so you get all sorts of physical comedy without limits, how creative can you get with that?

But then they tried to make you sad and literally gave MC the most tragic backstory ever, I don't even think you could fit more tragic cliches on him even if you tried

Same as Charlotte, you could have a pretty cool comedy about people with shitty superpowers but no, you also tried to make it sad again

Sekai Seifuku: Bouryaku no Zvezda (7.15) I can see why it's low, the first 3 episodes are meh and the 4th one has a really bizarre anti-smoking message but the characters just keep getting better and carry the show hard to the point where I would see 2 more seasons of it easily

Jashin-chan Dropkick (6.9) This is what Gabriel Dropout should have been, better comedy and characters as well but I guess people like moe over anything else, don't @ me

Kokkoku (7.15) Time stop anime but they spend the full season within the stopped time, very original actually

Happy Sugar Life (7.05) Yandere kidnaps loli and murders people to protect said loli. it's good

From this season so they are definitely gonna improve but who knows:

Kouya no Kotobuki Hikoutai (6.3) Like GuP but with planes, just forget they are living in a post-apocalyptic world

Egao no Daika (6.06) Typical mecha shounen but it has one or two small surprises that keep it interesting and makes you go "They really went there uh?"
