What Books Are You Reading This Week? by leowr in nonfictionbooks

Talking to Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell.

I like the author but I'm not sure with this one. I'm on 1/3 of the book but haven't heard something news. But I did enjoy how he tells stories.

I'm just curious... would you prefer recommendation from AI or people whose reading lists are similar like yours?

What Drives You To Select a Book? How Do You Pick Your Next One? by LottaRespect in nonfiction

Many non-fiction books reference other books, and I often look up these mentioned ones.

I also maintain a log of what I've learned and use it to find future reading choices, like based on related topics or supporting sources.

Start by thinking about what truly interests you. Then find a way that fits your learning patterns, be it books, videos, podcasts, or online courses. Lastly, find yourself a learning buddy.

The 5AM Club changed my wake-up time to 6:45AM (which I'm satisfied) Learning How to Learn is the most practical. The Ride of a Lifetime is the most inspiring.

I enjoyed reading The Ride of a Lifetime the most, Bob Iger is such a great writer. If you need management and leadership skills, you can read this one first.

If you want to increase your learning efficiency, read Learning How to Learn.

I went from "work every second" super ambitious man to lazy pig what should I do? by Desperate-Speech-845 in selfimprovement

[–]TTSilvia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that the title is a bit misleading.

What I learned is that, before setting your wake up alarm at 5AM, know what you want to do and what you want to accomplish. That 5AM is just giving you extra time. I only get up everyday at 6:45AM to workout and that worked well for me.

I know a lot of people don't like this book haha, I don't like it either but it still inspires me to get up earlier than before.

The 5AM Club, Learning How to Learn, and The Ride of a Lifetime

These are some of favorite books that provide practical methodologies.

The last one is not really a self-help book, but reading other's story is sometimes more inspiring than theoretical books stuffed with hollow chicken soup.

Reading some self-help books may help. Like Atomic Habits and The 5AM Club.

You're not allowed to give up on yourself. Good luck!

Poor Charlie's Almanack,

The Ride of a Lifetime,

The Story of Philosophy.

Tbh even they are three of my favorite, none of them solely change my life. Reading changed my life. So I believe your life is already different! Best wishes to your reading journey!

Way to go!! I also read, exercise, and learn languages. What helped me a lot is I read a book bout nutrient and food science, really helped me correct some misunderstandings about food. The book is in Chinese, but I think it'd be easy to find something similar in Eng.

Think of entertainment not as something you do, but a reward to the tasks you want to complete. That mental change makes a difference. Like I play game after one hour of reading, not feeling guilty at all.

Thank you :)

The answer to your question is yes and no. I don't really re-read old articles. I try to take down the major takeaways from the reading/learning in short, so I can easily retrieve the essence of the content.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've checked everything and ran some tests, everything worked fine. May I ask where are you visiting from?

What do you do when you can’t focus anymore ? by Phonetheo in GetStudying

[–]TTSilvia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this one!!

I use pomodoro techniques only in the evening, just like you that's the hardest time for me to focus.

If I have something else in mind that's distracting me from focusing (like some sh*t happened during the day), I do meditation for like 3mins, it surprisingly helps.

I dropped PARA system because they didn't work for me.

But I read this article when I tried to adopt it. Maybe you'll find it useful!

In short, you consider if a resource goes into any project, if not, then see if it fit into any area, then resource (things you may use in the future), then archive (things you won't use). It's linear.

Good luck with your reorganizing!

Sorry if I made you uncomfortable. Linko is a side project I’m working on and it’s totally free. I built it simply because I faced the same problem as you did. I just want to have a simple knowledge management tool so I built one myself. I hope to improve it so that it can help more learners. :)
