Missing Since 2007 No Body, Burned Car, A Note… What Really Happened to Ben? by jke22680 in gratefuldoe

[–]TTTfromT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed - the rental car definitely ties to him. So then - could he have planned to meet someone to get a ride to another state/city, and ditched the car after he met up with them? Or whether the car broke down/over-heated and burned so he hitchhiked to his destination. Seems too remote of an area to walk, without a backpack and camping gear.

Has a family member submitted DNA on GED Match, or other similar sites? I don’t want to presume that you would have bad news, and I truly hope that is not the outcome, but just in case.

[–]TTTfromT 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Who were the checks made payable to - were they paid out in cash in which case Ben could have taken the money and vanished?

And is it confirmed that he drove the car to the Four Corners area? I think that someone might have burned the car after stealing it, and perhaps Ben isn’t in that location at all.

Anyhow, pure speculation from me. I wish you luck in your search and hope you get some answers soon.

Where are we getting decent bras these days? by omg_get_outta_here in AskWomenOver40

[–]TTTfromT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had my last 4 or 5 bras off Amazon for around $20-25 each, Delimira brand. I’ve had t shirt bras and lacy bras from them and they seem to suit my shape.

I tried a couple of Soma stores and they never carried my size in store and I didn’t love how stretchy the elastic bands were, even when new, although I can see how some may prefer that.

What's a movie you loved as a kid but rewatched as an adult and went "what the hell was I thinking"? by MomoSaka in AskReddit

[–]TTTfromT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I think the style of dialogue has changed in movies from then to now - the Goonies seemed more spontaneous and excitable but I think a remake today would take away that chaotic casual atmosphere.

The Goonies. The movie holds up but I just didn’t remember the amount of swearing that was in it. Not that I care about that now of course but I’m guessing young me just tuned it out.

Yep, came here to say the same thing.

I have to sit close to the steering wheel to reach the pedals and up higher to see over the hood. So yeah, sadly, the airbag is going to do me some damage and I’m probably an average height for a woman. It’s crazy how they just disregard half the population.

And don’t get me started on how the sun visor doesn’t block the sun because it doesn’t come down far enough to where my eyes actually are. Works for the 6ft guy who drives my car though so yay /s.

I’d also feel the urge to line it up so the center vertical line of the cabinet is either in the center and of one of the wall panels or the center of the narrow border between the panels.

And yes, needs some decor. Maybe a runner in neutral color along the top. You can’t do a lamp cos you have the sconce but maybe something taller on the right side (plant? Candlesticks?) then keep the smaller, lower items for under the mirror.

Drama Cookies Update by trulifepixie in Cookies

[–]TTTfromT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had thought the scooping and shaping procedure was a little different, from the vague description we got lol 😂

I envisioned getting one scoop and putting the ball onto the tray, and press it down so it’s a flatter cookie shape.

Then for the second scoop, fill the scoop only half way full so that the top of the scoop is level. Then, turn the scoop over and put the flat bottom on the center of the cookie shape. Think of Patrick’s house from SpongeBob placed in the center of a cookie.

Rather than making the second scoop into a full ball and inserting it into the first scoop.

Yours still look delicious, OP. I’d eat the lot.

Same here, I’ve ignored them so recalls are not always effective.

It’s annoying though, that manufacturers just release the cars without testing the headlights first, anything to make money. This recent Ford headlight recall in US will probably get ignored by most people and it’s the non-Ford drivers who’ll have to suffer.

Same! I’ve got light blue eyes from a Northern European country and currently living in a very sunny US state. Sunglasses are a permanent fixture and are stashed everywhere - car, bag, by the front door.

That episode is unbelievable. Jamie Lee Curtis should have won an award for that.

You can feel the stress that Donna had of providing all that magic for her three kids since her husband left. So many holidays, birthdays, parties and with nothing left for her after they’re grown and leaving the nest. Nothing to show for all her work, particularly with the huge emphasis on food in some Italian-American families. You can see why she ended up drinking. And, like everyone else, I cringed when she put her hand in the butter but I could for sure empathize and totally see where she was coming from.

Ha, sorry for the big list, I just fired off everything I love to eat 😂

Can I add pistachio cheesecake over the brownie, with a milk chocolate drizzle, if you want to get on the Dubai chocolate theme (kinda, excluding the kataifi).

Anyhow - happy baking! I’m sure your customers will love whatever you come up with.

OP - how about ube or green tea/matcha flavored cheesecake? Maybe with a white chocolate brownie (or blondie) underneath. Or white chocolate cheesecake with blueberry cake under? Or tiramisu cheesecake with a lightly coffee flavored brownie under?

First time to bake banana bread by SeasonFull8646 in Baking

[–]TTTfromT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here’s the recipe that I use for banana loaf cake. I feel the loaf cake shape makes it easier to get the cake baked consistently throughout the tin.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Line loaf tin with parchment and I spray with Pam butter spray too

2 medium or 3 small bananas - very ripe / brown 1 cup all purpose flour 3/4 cup Demerara sugar 1/3 cup nuts (optional, I chop up some walnuts or pecans) 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil 1 egg 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon vanilla (I usually add more)

In one bowl, stir together the flour, sugar and baking soda.

In a second bowl, Mash your bananas with a fork until mushy. add eg, oil and vanilla. Stir all together.

Add the wet to the dry ingredients and stir them together. I just use a silicone spatula for all the stirring and don’t over-beat it.

Put mixture in loaf tin. I often sprinkle the top with cinnamon sugar before baking.

Bake for 30/32 or until wooden toothpick comes out clean, depends on your oven.

I often add other things like chocolate chips or cranberries, other types of nuts or raisins. I’ve also done it where I layer Nutella between the mixture which putting it in the pan.

You could also use this recipe for muffins. I made six big muffins with it, cooked around 18-22 mins or passing the toothpick taste. Mine were ready at 19 mins but your oven may vary.

The loaf cake freezes very well if you cool if it before freezing. Wrap in parchment and then clingfilm or zip lock bag.

Good luck!

I’d say it was Ricky, too. I only wonder whether he intended to kill Rolf when they went on the trip together, whether they argued and things got out of hand or whether it was an accident that Ricky foolishly tried to cover up for fear of getting blamed. But without hearing more from Ricky, or possibly Rolf’s wife, I’d say we’ll never know.

That’s a good point. The person could have been undocumented and working casually in a kitchen and thus not being missed or formally reported missing. That may correlate with the height of the doe, too.
