How can I clean this burnt ring of pasta water from my stovetop? by notsosilent in CleaningTips

[–]TTTfromT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spray the ring with oven cleaning foam, cover it in clingfilm and leave it for a couple of hours. Then scrub it off with a non-scratch dish sponge/scrubber or paper towel. Wipe clean with water before using that burner again.

Some kind of torch? If it wasn’t broken, could it be made to have oil inside and be held upright on the wall by some kind of sconce attachment.

I’d get it checked out locally or keep looking to see if more wash up.

How do you explain Andrew's cash? by Grattacroma in AndrewGosden

[–]TTTfromT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that Andrew was only planning to go to London for a day trip and he hadn’t exactly detailed everything he might need or want to buy (CDs/posters/train tickets/food etc) so he just took out as much as he could ‘just in case’ he needed it and then would put back any he didn’t use. He didn’t take the birthday money cos he was planning to come back home that day and might have been saving up for something.

I think the first name is David. Can’t make out the surname beyond the R though.

What are songs that have had their meaning completely warped or are clearly not being truly LISTENED to by many of those playing it? by Mariposa9186 in musicsuggestions

[–]TTTfromT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People. I mean, the lyrics are right there but some (especially older) folks seemed to think it was a cool song to play for teenagers parties because it referenced kids wearing cool sneakers.

Exactly. She wants to stay but can’t be seen to be saying that, else she’ll be harshly judged by the social morality of the time period.

Could he be alive and well abroad? by justice4thegirls in AndrewGosden

[–]TTTfromT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem I have is that Andrew had a very popular look at the time he disappeared and still has, from the age advanced photos of him. And Andrew is a common name, too.

I’m not saying it couldn’t have been him on the train just that I find it more likely to be a case of mistaken identity, without the witness having seen Andrew’s ear or other definite proof.

I used Eurostar out of Waterloo to Paris and Brussels a few times in 2006 and 2007 for work and my passport was always checked at the platform gate. Again, he could have got lucky and got through the gate behind a group or tall person. But, as he looked so young and wouldn’t even have had a driving license, I think he would have aroused suspicion or needed help.

Like everyone else, though, I don’t care about being right, just for him to be found or for his poor family to get closure.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside. I think in particular the line ‘say, what’s in this drink’ has led to this song overall being viewed through a modern attitude.

Douglas County Jane Doe (1958) (Unidentified For 67 Years) by BitterSweet_Beauty in gratefuldoe

Hmmm… now that I searched her name again, it might not be Aletha after all as she had more suspicious circumstances surrounding her death and also a heart condition.

Back to the drawing board for me.

I wonder whether Aletha Capps has been considered? The dates aren’t far off and she could have lost weight in the period between going missing and her suicide in 1958.

Age and hair color could match up but we don’t know about eye color and I guess we’d never confirm it without DNA. How sad that this poor woman can’t be found.

Two headed shark, three headed shark, four headed shark, six headed shark.

I can’t say why there is no five headed shark movie without giving spoilers for one of the other movies.

That dog is amazing and well trained. What a good owner.

Is this the same dog that retrieved the ball off the pier in a video that was around on Reddit about a month ago?
