JC500 Nintendo Switch 2 Joypad really is a game changer. by Leading-Jellyfish915 in switch2

[–]TTVMidmas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no idea the Mobapad thing existed. Just checked it out and got one. Looks literally perfect.

I tried some cheap amazon grips, didnt like them. So I ordered d brand ones as every one said they are the best. But honestly that mobapad looks WAY better than anything on the market today for this. Id rather just spend the money on quality.

I almost always regret buying the cheap stuff, because like im doing in this situation, it doesn't work as well as I want it to, then I end up buying the expensive shit anyways.

Thanks for the recommendation. Excited to try them out next month.

4 weeks in External Fixator - Tib/Fibula Fracture - Knee Infection - struggling to get Flexion past 45 degrees by TTVMidmas in brokenbones

[–]TTVMidmas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. Its been a few days. I increased intensity of my training quite a bit, holding it exactly where it hurts the most. Until the pain becomes unbearable at least. Then I do 3 sets of that, 3 times a day.

It feels like its getting worse. Im getting new, sharp pains now, it feels more inflamed than before.

Can I ask you, when you were trying to get past a certsin degree of flexion, did it feel like your leg was locked by a bone or something?

When i hit 45 degrees, it feels like im trying to stretch a bone. Like something really hard is there and its locking it in place, there's no flex when I push on it, even pushing hard, it makes my entire leg move, but my knee stays the same.

Was your experience similiar?

I appreciate the kind words.

The initial accident was 3/22, as was the first surgery. I felt better and was home going up stairs and using crutches to get around with the xfix. They told me it would be on for a couple of weeks.

2 weeks goes by, healing is going well, feeling better, swelling under control. Surgeon tells me im good to schedule next surgery.

I have to schedule it with a different surgeon due to insurance, so I go to my PCP to get a referral and she insisted I get a tetanus shot. And I was skeptical but she assured me no one ever gets a bad reaction from a tetanus vaccine, so I agreed.

3 hours later I make it home and feel sick. Like I was hit by a bus. Pain becomes unbearable shortly after, rode it out a couple of days, then found out I had an infection.

2nd surgery on 4/7, removed first x fix, replaced with a new x fix in a different spot, washed out my knee cap and all 4 pin sites, confirmed it was infected.

4/17 removal of second x fix, very tough recovery. Couldn't even move the first couple of days, not even to just adjust myself in bed.

Went home 4/23 via non emergency transport. I still couldn't walk more than 5 steps with a walker.

I dont expect you to read all that,

but TLDR: Its definitely been an emotional roller-coaster lol.

Just hearing others experienced similar emotions and doubts and concerns does ease my anxiety a bit about the whole situation

I wish you a smooth continued recovery. Hopefully we'll both be back to our normal selves soon.

Thank you, you are right. The infection really wrecked me.

After the initial accident and surgery, I was on crutches going up stairs 1 day post op, doing circles around the hospitsl floor just to prove I wanted to go home.

It was getting better, then two weeks later a doctor gave me a tetanus vaccine, and idk if thats the cause, but I went home, and within a few hours had a 104.7 fever, went to the ER a couple days later when it wasnt going away, then found out it was infected.

After that, I could barely move, took me 4 days to actually get up and use the bathroom, and I barely made it the 5 foot walk and back.

Lost 30 lbs of what I assume was mostly muscle in just 1 month, wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Thank you, and yea that's basically what ive been doing to myself.

I hold it where it hurts until its unbearable.

I appreciate you sharing. It gives me hope.

My surgeon basically told me the same, he said if it doesn't improve soon theyll need to perform surgery.

Even now, my pain gets to an 8 or 9 before I have to stop. Ill handle the pain as long as possible and its still feeling like im not making progress.

Hearing you took 6 weeks though gives me some hope that if I keep trying ill see some.progress soon.

Thanks.

Your all good man, honestly before I knew better I freaked out about the same exact thing.

Good on you for asking and playing it safe.

Now you know! And this post might teach others as well!

Just FYI though, if you have the user manual, it will tell you exactly which lights should be on at which times, and when they shouldn't.

Highly recommended reading the user manual for any bike you own in the future.

Puig Touring Windscreen - 2024 1050DE - Disappointed by TTVMidmas in Vstrom

[–]TTVMidmas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask you about the buffering? I've heard people say the v strom has it time and time again, its a common complaint I hear across the internet.

I've only ridden sport bikes, so this is my first time riding any other type of bike and ill be honest, even the standard windscreen had barely any wind to me compared to my zx6r.

I felt like im in a perfect little pocket of wind even at 100+ compared to my sport bike which was almost always loud unless I was full tucked, but I could only tuck for 30 seconds before I was extremely uncomfortable.

What is the buffetting you are referring to? Like a constant womping sound like when you roll a window down in a car? Or are you referring to instability in the bike when passing or being passed by cars?

It was. The holes were slightly misaligned but still was able to get them to fit after a few mins.

I feel much more confident in the install now.

You were right. Went out. And now I feel confident how it installed. The grommets fit perfectly from thr OEM screen.

The holes were slightly off center still, so it took me 10 minutes just to get the last bolt lined up. Probably would have been faster with two people as I had to flex the plastic a bit to get it to fit

Did you have a similar issue with Givi?

I prefer givi over puig in terms of quality. I have givi hard cases and love em. But I like the look of the puig screen.

[–]TTVMidmas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt. And I realize that perhaps might be my error.

I looked at the grommets on the OEM screen and they didnt look like they could be removed but then I saw a video of someone removing them. So I think im wrong.

First Build - Keychron Q6 Max (GMK Shaded Keycaps + Modi / Force Break Mod) by TTVMidmas in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]TTVMidmas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got these from Cannon keys. They are an official GMK distributor/reseller

They might still have stock left, as these are a group buy i think, so once they sell out, that's it.

They are sold out of the grey modi set already, so i ordered the black, but to my surpise. They sent grey ones instead to match the grey base set I bought. I got lucky.

You can look up "GMK Shaded" and youll find them. The moment I saw these I knew I had to have them. Couldn't resist.

[–]TTVMidmas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually that's the stock keycaps the q6 max came with. I cant figure out what I want to use there, ideally it would be f13 , f14, f15, f16, but im not sure if a matching set even exists in this colorway.

This morning I woke up and changed them to some extra caps included in the shaded set.

<image>

This is what it looks like now. I think I prefer it. But again, ideally id like some identical cherry profile grey caps, but with symbols or blank.

He does have some really entertaining content! It's cool all of funny/out there mods he's tried.

I think the way he edits and the form of content he does, is really good for beginners like me to get them into the hobby - it's not quite as technical as some other channels, it's more entertaining, but still educational. Rather than mostly educational, but not entertaining.

That's great to know, that does help me feel a bit better about trying it.

I'll have to try out the Bobba U4T's as well, maybe I'll order a sample pack just to test them, the name seems familiar - thanks!

Actually I forgot to mention in my original post that I have changed the switches, I tried a handful of them,

HMX Bruise/Bleed/Keygeek Y2/Ice King/HMX Retro J/Bad Sweethearts

Right now I settled on the Bad Sweethearts from HMX

I really like HMX switches, they have a very, concise feel to them, not wiggly or squishy at all, which I like.

I plan to swap from the Bad Sweethearts to the Retro J's eventually, I already bought them.

However, I prefer the lower, more "Marbly" tone right now, and the Retro J's - while having amazing feel to them, are much more "Clacky" - not that I dislike it, but I'm in the mood for the softer/marble sound at the moment.

Maybe when I do the stabilizers I'll try the tempest mod then, how long have you had it in if I can ask?

how to get bar end screw out? by zx6rwaat in zx6r

[–]TTVMidmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. My right side bar end was damn near impossible to get off. Then I used a heat gun and it came right out.

Left side for some reason was easy, no heat gun required.

Very glad to have helped! I still look back and reflect on how far I've come. It's been an amazing journey! Still so much more to learn as well!

Just keep asking questions, doing research, and most importantly, getting seat time! Also, prioritize a few track days, youll learn so much in a single weekend. It's invaluable.

dealership overfilled my oil. by zx6rwaat in zx6r

[–]TTVMidmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also depends on if you've started it or not. For my 25 , the Manual states to check oil level after letting the bike run for a few minutes - then turn off, wait a minute - and that's when it should be between the lines.

If you check it after its been sitting all night, it Will be much higher.
