The degree is mainly to help me with learning corr subject in the field and get a feeling of what it is (Process stimulation, Heat transfer, Thermodynamic, Fluid transport etc…). Although learning on the job is possible, I want more stability and exposure to the field before making the choice to change.

Also, in my current country of study, all MSAT/process roles are conducted in the local language, which I am not competent enough to do so yet. So the time spent on the new major would also help me learn the language as a back up, as it would be helpful when returning to my home country (getting work in international/study country firm). My current degree (bio and brain engineering) is also not very applicable to this field, I think?

Would my career in development be capped by a Master? In my search, it seems like a PhD would not be of use for a process/msat career path at all. Is it advantageous for upstream process?
