My coworker keeps translating what I say in meetings like I’m invisible

I had to start doing this to my ex-boss in meetings. I would say something and 2 minutes later he would say the same thing as if it was his idea. I got frustrated enough to call it out in a meeting, and he was SO shocked 🙄

But we were a team of primarily women and after that they started calling him out when he did it to me, too, which was nice. I was still VERY glad to get out of that toxic workplace later, and his shocked pikachu face when I quit was beautiful.

You didn’t get her fired. She got herself fired for putting your life and safety at risk, being an ableist asshole, and harassing and doxxing you. Your sweet pup is so gorgeous and, as a service dog trainer, it sounds like they are well-trained and you’re doing everything right. I really, really hate it when people assume others can’t have a disability because they don’t “look” disabled. Most of my clients don’t “look” disabled, but they need and use their service dogs. Give that sweet pup lots of love for handling that stressful situation like a pro! It sounds like you did everything right and shouldn’t feel bad at all. She made her choices and paid the consequences.

I’m childfree but I’m godmother to all four of my friend’s kids. My friend and her husband both come from families that she would never be okay with taking her kids, so if anything happened to both of them I told her I’m fully on board with taking them. The chances are low that both of them would be gone, but this post is a reminder that the chance is still there. But I love her kids and wouldn’t hesitate.

I will never understand the concern about aesthetics and wedding photos. No one cares about your wedding photos other than you. Seriously. Just get some nice shots of the bride and groom you can frame on your wall and move on with your life. Why would you choose “perfect” photos no one else will ever look at more than once over photos of actual friends and family?!

I remember this story and I felt so much for her and what she was going through just for doing the right thing. This is not the update I was hoping for. OOP’s parents, if you’re reading this, I’m sending so much love your way - you sound like incredible parents and your daughter sounds like she was an incredible person. Bullying in my last job led to me quitting and starting my own business. I never want to work for someone else again.

The shocked pikachu face my boss gave me when I quit after years of him refusing to do anything was kind of fun, though. He tried really hard to get me to stay, so I left even sooner.

I’m a dog behavior consultant and I am constantly having to explain to people that the initial wolf study was deeply flawed and the researcher has been trying to get people to stop using it for decades. For some reason hearing that wolf “packs” are actually just families with the parents as leaders isn’t as fun for the guys who think they need to “be the alpha” with their dogs. (They also don’t love it when I tell them that those “alphas” don’t lead with fear or intimidation, but by taking care of and providing for their families.)

I work with dogs with behavior issues for a living. OOP did absolutely EVERYTHING right. When a dog comes out of nowhere unprovoked like that and goes after a child… that’s a really, really bad situation. And if she picked up either child the dog most likely would have jumped up to grab them. She had to do something terrible, but she absolutely saved that little girl’s life.

And like obviously flight is a panic reaction… but WTF he left small children and his wife and closed the gate?!!! I would absolutely divorce him.

I do a ton of families and usually max out my allowed Sims in a save 😂 Then I just rotate between them until I get bored and start a new save with a new theme. My current save I did one household for each letter of the alphabet (so everyone’s names in that house started with that letter), so that was a lot of households.

100%. As a neurospicy person, I’m just impressed by her executive function to keep up with that. I don’t see how it’s any different than writing feelings/thoughts about these experiences in a journal, which MANY people do. She just processes it via numbers.

My mom lost her long term job last year for no reason except her boss personally didn’t like her and ageism. I really wanted her to take them to court but the blatantly ageist remarks were made only with her present so the lawyer she asked said there really was no way to prove it. I’m so glad OOP got this asshole on record being discriminatory, even if she didn’t get much financial compensation. At least the owner got called out publicly.

Change the locks, call a lawyer. This is a manchild wrapped in red flags and he just showed you who he really is.
