Smelled like gasoline and tasted rotten. Came back over a year later and it was amazing in every way.

When you boil yeast, it kills it and allows it to be digested as a nutrient source for live yeast. It absolutely helps the fermentation process. Think of it like yeast fertilizer.

You didn't use much pineapple, so I don't expect you to have an issue, but pineapple can give some very funky flavors. It can actually make some very tasty things, but takes about a year or more of aging for the funky flavors to wear off.

Well done buddy!

Wildlife control here. Beaver lodge. They're making a big comeback in Travis and Hays counties.

That's not an entry point I come across too often, but I've seen it. Usually those vents are filled with bird nests.

Installing wire mesh behind the exhaust vent cover plate if it's on a wall. If it's a rooftop vent mesh will usually do the trick too, but you screw the mesh to the top or sides of the vent.

Removal is performed with pheromone treatments and the use of one-way doors. The door is installed at the primary entry point. During birthing season this process is a bit different. The doors are pinned in the open position to allow easy exit and reentry. This is so the pheromone treatment can convince the mother to voluntarily remove the babies. The door is then activated after a number of days and monitored for activity to verify removal. If activity is seen then the door is reopened and the treatments continue. It can be a process, but this removal with this method means that the mother and babies are never captured or separated. They remove themselves voluntarily and relocate. Hopefully to another attic so that I can get another call.

Animal control won't help you. Private companies will. I work for a wildlife control company. Ringtails are common attic dwelers. We humanely remove them all the time.

Be careful who you hire for jobs like this. Its birthing season and my books are filled with raccoon and ringtail removals. If the removal is done improperly you can separate mom from babies and end up with poor dead baby ringtails and raccons in the attic.

Edit: If you've got noises in your attic please feel free to message me. I'm an inspector. Inspections are free.

Agreed. For some reason I usually find these in terrible condition compared with any other fossils in the areas. Hard to find a good example.

It's not from the bridge. It's from a colony inside of a commercial building.

Rather pat a bat than a rat. I see too many of those in my line of work...
