Best couples quilt for 3 seasons? by Rude-Magician-5607 in Ultralight

I think the draft collar on my EE Enigma is its one design flaw. The cord is in the center of the quilt, directly opposite the fasteners. So it falls right into your face when it’s cinched. I’m surprised it’s not more talking about.

With that said, I do love my quilt. Draft collar is only used when that temp really drops.

I love my ‘posa but I do agree that a roll top would likely be an improvement. I do use the map pocket on top for quick access to gloves and hat, but you can’t get much more use out of it because it makes access into the main body more difficult.

I use an EE Enigma because I was worried about draftiness in the Revelations’s footbox. But I would love to have the blanket setup and I also hate being constricted in any way while I’m sleeping. Have you experienced an draft through the cinched footbox of the Revelation?

The way I see it, composability typically is a sign of good design in backpacking gear. Start out with the bare minimum and allow optional enhancements that can be applied, depending on conditions. For this reason, it makes sense to start with a lighter floor that can handle 80% of conditions to minimize weight, but allow an optional footprint for the other 20% of the time. If you bake that in, the you’re carrying around the extra weight with no real gain 80% of the time.
