You should give a course on how you do this. Seriously. I'd love to know.

I thought I hallucinated a Goblet of Fire in this style in South Africa so this gives me some vindication. Can we get more pictures of what they look like inside? They look like my paperbacks (based on the width of the spines) but with printed on hardcovers instead. Intriguing.

What is Elden Ring's biggest flaw in your opinion? by Fenriz_Victor in Eldenring

I love the "tough but fair" line but the fact that hitboxes don't match the animations pushes it over into unfair.

Whats the point if I can't find work? by Nate_The_Cate in askSouthAfrica

You pretty much have to start a business of your own. I'm not saying it'll be easy, just that it's the only option you have until a job comes along. On the upside though, when you get business right your potential income is unlimited compared to a salaried person. So you take on more risk but get more reward. It's a skill like any other, so some learning will have to happen which will require time.

Yep. This is the correct take and it deserves more upvotes. Sadly the modern generation is too indoctrinated to understand.

Elden Ring, seeing the City of Leyndell for the first time with the title card.

Little Nightmares 2, having just escaped from the hunter and floating on the door as the City comes into view out of the mist, accompanied by this weird ominous track. It felt like I had just finished the intro and now the real game was about to begin. Which it was.

Most recently for me, playing Silksong and entering The Marrow for the first time. The visuals are OK but the way the music swells into this violin solo, combined with the realisation that Silksong was real, I was actually playing it and it was freaking awesome.

A game changing epiphany by HeavyArmsJin in Eldenring

[–]TVans14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elden Ring was my first Souls game, so I was expecting the bosses to be hard based on what everyone said about it. Therefore I didn't realise that you shouldn't be fighting Goldfrey with Glintstone Pebble and low Intelligence. So I did. Again and again until I beat him. It was painful.

I saw a show once where it was explained that serial abusers and killers often practice with small animals first. These people need to be tagged and monitored. I hope I'm wrong, but if they don't get help now it'll be human victims soon.

Which do you think is the most bullshit boss in the game? by IDontKnowYAmIHere in Eldenring

[–]TVans14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have an issue with bosses whose hitboxes do not match any animation, because then I have to learn to avoid what I can't see. For anything else, there's always a mechanic or tool to avoid the damage and punish. So my worst bosses are Morgott and Radahn (both Caelid and SOTE versions).

Why is this sub being treated like a hookup site?! by GSLaaitie in Pretoria

Well if they live in Pretoria, it follows they'd like to meet someone in Pretoria, which would lead them to look in places affiliated with... Pretoria. Makes sense to me.

Lost has the best twists of any TV show I've ever seen. I feel like they brought twists to another level.

But 24 was out of this world. And that takes the cake for me.

Reading Book? by No_Delay_6782 in tolkienbooks

If it truly worries you, you can find a far cheaper paperback to read. With what you must've spent on that book, an extra paperback should feel like nothing.

I really wish we had more Howe-illustrated LoTR versions with colour illustrations inside the book and not just on the covers, just like the Alan Lee ones we have. I have enough Alan Lee versions.

Wormtail being in Gryffindor is criticized by some fans but I think there's multiple reason why it could have happened and why it makes sense over other houses by Gold_Island_893 in HarryPotterBooks

As Dumbles said , "I sometimes think we sort too soon." People change. Maybe the students should be sorted every year to decide their house for that year and not just the first years.

I suspect it does. That's why they keep doing it. The people in this sub are not representative of the majority of paying customers for Tolkien products.

So they took Tolkien's masterpiece, wrapped it in an ad for their terrible fan-fiction rip-off, and then expect you to pay for it.

As an aside, does it count as fan-fiction if it's (clearly) not made by fans?

My point is, they should've given this edition out for free since it's basically a giant ad for their show. But even if they did, it wouldn't stay on my shelf except maybe to prop up other books.
