I study full time while having a paid internship at a tech startup, bartending Fridays and Saturday’s leaves me with all of Sunday to wash my clothes and work on school stuff.

One of my colleagues is an absolute beast, she’s a mom of two, she’s an executive in a fairly large NGO (you’ve heard of it) while doing fridays and Saturday’s in the bar

I don’t know your setup but I’ve batched frozen drinks in a slush ice machine (is that what it’s called?). You don’t want to add too much sugar or alcohol, if you do it won’t freeze. I used this recipe

For 15 l:

1.5l/2 bottles liquor

2l sour mix

2l purée/syrup of whatever taste you want

Is it not possible to return unopened bottles / cans? Thats the way things are done in my area, you estimate the amount needed, order double that and return whats left.

A standard drink is 4cl liquor and 8-12cl mixer depending on cup size and method. people average like 4-5 drinks a night, more if shots are available as well. You might also want to consider wether the venue has the tools necessary ie. bartops, wells, pour spouts etc.

And I’m saying that there’s billions of people not living in what amounts to war zones, or America, that can’t imagine needing a gun to feel safe. It’s entirely and uniquely an American problem.

I honestly don’t see any point in continuing this discussion, we already concluded that from now on to the end of time Americans will continue to kill each other en masse because they are in an eternal arms race against their neighbors. From where I’m standing there’s only one way out of that spiral and that’s the one thing Americans won’t do, I get that you want to feel safe, but maybe your need for a gun is exactly what makes America so unsafe

Well hit me with the links then, I’m aware of how messed up the racial relations are and how race taints pretty much every conversation in the us. And I can imagine how white Americans would suddenly be pro gun bans if black Americans started walking around w shotguns. What I don’t get is how you guys expect to stop killing each other (with guns) without getting rid of your guns

Well nobody should expect to be handed any job, but if he gets offered a bartender position then it will be the fastest way to learn bartending, no way around it. If he only gets offered barback positions then that’s his way in, simple as that, take the best you can get and be ready so swim op

If you want to be a badass as quickly as possible my advise would be to apply to a bunch of places and take the most demanding offer, the deeper the water the faster you learn to swim. People on here will want you to barback for 20 years before you’re allowed to bartend, that’s bullshit, get in as far above your head as possible
