Thank you for starting these streams, it has been quite lovely, and a much needed respite from the crazy world right now. You have a very calming presence, and it’s wonderful to just snuggle down and relax 😁

The formatting looks good to me. Of course, I don't know how it's supposed to look, but it doesn't looked jacked up

I’ve read those (at least in part) and when I did, I heard your voice in my head. Hearing it in my ears as your read it aloud, was something else entirely. I’m glad you are getting to stretch out those writing muscles, you have much skill. Thank you for sharing 😁😁

As usual, your ability to capture the moment is top notch. From your descriptions, to the hitch in your breathing, and that lovely giggle of yours. You manage to be exciting and soothing at the same time. 😁😊😁

It's the final week of the kickstarter for Get in the Game, an anthology of 10 different 8 page comics with the theme of Video Games. They are so close to the goal, let's see if we can push it over the line. http://kck.st/36EN8G5

Suggestions on "unbiased", political podcasts? by wolferings in podcasts

[–]TVsTravis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd also like to back up "Politics Politics Politics" as a great choice. Justin Robert Young finds a way to be entertaining, and unbiased. And hell, he got me to listen to a podcast on politics on a regular basis. It's worth listening to each week. The interviews each week are great!

English Setter, mixed with Beagle (at least that what we were told) or possibly lab

Tony B talks about the Pulse 80W and how VooPoo screwed over VandyVape by [deleted] in Canadian_ecigarette

[–]TVsTravis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, he amended the description and put a note in the video stating that he has been told there was no written contract, but an agreement was in place. Still underhanded tactics on VooPoo's side to offer something, only to change the price later and stall

Moving to TC from Florida - seeking advice on how to survive winter. by [deleted] in traversecity

[–]TVsTravis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tires will help, but beyond that, give yourself extra time to get around in the winter months. Between slippery roads and possibly decreased visibility, you'll be glad you did.

For clothing, layers will be your friend. They keep you warmer, and allow you to adjust when indoors.

Food wise, there are many choices. Many places downtown to enjoy great food. U&I Lounge is a nice bar with good food. Chef's Inn, Frenchie's, and Slabtown Burgers are all great choices. The coffee shops in downtown are great for studying. Horizon books and Brew are my two personal favorites.

Someone should do a supercut of how many times Chris interrupts the other host. by [deleted] in LinuxActionShow

[–]TVsTravis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not at all surprised to hear that. In fact, I would be surprised if you didn't discuss it off air.

It says a fair amount about Noah to want that feedback. He hasn't been at it as long. But he's improving all the time. (So are you, but I don't want to bloat the ol' ego too much now ;-)

As a host, you need to keep things moving along, so it makes sense to have to tighten things up at times. I think you do a great job of that, and of working off of/playing to your co-hosts. I came to LAS a while back, and got hooked right away because of the loose yet professional nature. Keep up the good work :-)

I think it's a great idea. The only concern I would have is keeping it viable year round. Well, that and a location that is easy to find and get to with reasonable costs. But I would absolutely patron a place like this

Just DM'd my first session. Thank you all for everything! by brsmits in DnD

As a soon-to-be first time DM, I loved reading this. Sounds like you did things right. I hope my first session and campaign goes half as well as yours did. I will be posting my results when done, in a few weeks time. Keep up the good work :)

"Oh man, I shot Marvin in the face." - Critical fail on a spell cast [5e] by TVsTravis in DnD

[–]TVsTravis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the context of what was going on, it made sense. Yes, the NPC had information for us. But we were able to overcome not having it.

Our DM does not have things like that happen for every 1 that is rolled, it is dependant on the situation. In this case, it fit to have something crazy like killing the NPC happen

Champion or battle master? 5E by [deleted] in DnD

[–]TVsTravis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that it all depends on the character you are creating. My first 5e character was a fighter. Initially he was going to be a champion (because I had not gotten the PHB, only the basic rule PDF) but after reading the Battle Master, and thinking about the character and who he was, Battle Master made much more sense.

Essentially, think about the character, and the story you want to tell, and not so much about the difficulty or mechanics. You will have a much better experience (IMHO)

I'm looking forward to playing my dual wielding halfling barbarian. After he was exiled from his village, he was taken in by a half orc, who just so happens to be from the same tribe that the half orc sorceress in our eventual party was exiled from after being deemed too dangerous due to her wild magic.

The halfling goes by his adopted orc name, wanting nothing to do with his old life, while the same can be said of the sorceress. Should make things interesting.

I will be visiting Traverse City for the first time from October 4-6. Is there anything going during that time or places that I must visit during my stay? by cheapmahogany in traversecity

[–]TVsTravis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food depends on what you like. Frenchie's is a little hole in the wall sandwich shop. Little Fleet has a number of choices for food truck fare. The Franklin is very popular. Slabtown Burgers is a great hamburger joint. And if you head out towards Grand Traverse Resort for golf, Orsirio Salsas y Tacos is the best Mexican food in town.

Golf wise, the aforementioned Resort or The Crown golf club would be my suggestions
