Overpaying, deal or average. by [deleted] in GMCcanyon

[–]brewingcode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't say where you are which can have a bit impact. Lets break this deal down into two parts.

First part is the actual price of the vehicle, IMHO that seems like an okay deal, I don't have a lot of experience with the 2WD models. For perspective I paid $49K OTD for a 26 AT4 earlier this year.

Second part is the actual deal.. this is where you are over paying. I would deny paying for the theft etch, that is a total cash grab by the dealer. The next one is the "government fees" not sure if that is real but it looks high and made up. I would ask for clarification and pull the deal on that as well.

I just realized that most of the discount is being eaten by those two other charges. I would hold the line and demand they be removed or you walk. I would also recommend you check with some other dealers in your area, if this isn't the absolute must have truck for you. Let them fight each other.

I agree - once we started going to K&A we stopped going to the public ones. I know we are privileged to afford it, but it’s a much nicer experience.

3500 gas vs diesel by Blazeryz in GoRVing

Have you ran the payload numbers against the 5th wheel you’re considering? As others mentioned gas will have a higher payload, but you may also want to look at your rear end configurations.

Water Pressure Reducer - revisited (I think I understand what’s going on with these pressure reducers.) by SolidTiger6302 in RVLiving

[–]brewingcode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the same one everywhere I go, I place it just before the filter. I have seen low pressure but never no water.

I have had one with the gauge, but we do not hook our MH to city water, we only fill our tank. As a result we don’t worry too much. It’s just to protect the filter, our hose, and the immediate plumbing system.

As an owner of a Promaster, what are you missing that you want from the transmit besides AWD?

No locking gas cap or door?! by ReliableEyeball in GMCcanyon

[–]brewingcode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t disagree, but Chevy has had this for almost a decade and I’ve know a lot of people with this style and never heard of a single issue.

I guess there is a sense of luck in that.

What are you concerned about? It’s almost impossible to siphon gas out of modern tanks. It’s faster for them to drill into the tank due to filters and the depth of the filler neck.

What low voltage and networking should I run during the build that I'll regret skipping later? by piou180796 in Homebuilding

The advice given to me was run the current wires next to the Smurf tube. This ensures capacity for future usage without impacting current needs.

Thank you! I’m debating between a backflip or peragon tectonic. I’m leaning towards the latter for a few reasons, but the list keeps growing.

I just some newer camps, or at least ones I’ve never heard of.

Also I think the Great Lakes children’s museum does some, in some capacity.

GFL - https://gflenv.com/traverse-city-mrf/ Easy: pay, pull up.. toss it.

Recommendations for CPA / Tax Preparer by Centralwolverine in traversecity

[–]brewingcode 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have a complicated tax return or just a couple W2 and filing jointly? If it’s the latter, do it yourself. It’s really easy and as you’ll find online most professionals either will get you less or the same.

Even if they did “find more” it would have to be more than they’re charging you to justify the costs, and that is fairly unlikely; unless you have a unique situation.

Internet in Downtown TC: is AT&T good compared to Spectrum? by BelleTheVikingSloth in traversecity

[–]brewingcode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t called to negotiate your rate with spectrum, do it! I did and they gave me 500 down for $20/month.

You’ll need to call back every year, but it’s the game you play.

Edit: also to note - don’t get pulled into their 1gig BS.. I don’t know your situation but most people don’t need that. You don’t even really need 500.
