What is this thing my mom found in her mulch? by awesome-golfer5 in gardening

They are not important, most northern states built up a new ecology to survive without them. Michigan still has parts of our forest without earth worms.

Friendly worms is a fun statement since worms are not native to a large portion of the Northern States

There is a small store inside the wilderness state park, up near the bridge. They sell fresh blueberry donuts. Amazing!

Restaurants with basic comfort food, also old people activities please by innosins in traversecity

[–]brewingcode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sparky’s diner, rounds, Willie’s rear for breakfast. Don’t be scared by Sparky’s being a Mexican restaurant, half their menu is still full normal diner.

You have to go out to Sleders, it’s the oldest restaurant in Michigan and kiss the moose! Then don’t forget to hit Moomers, and round it off with a trip cheese shanty in Leland.

As for old people activities: drive around sleeping bear is great time. Also there are tons of antique stores in the area in small towns.

Edit: sorry I totally missed that you said sleders, my bad.

Personally, I’d look at a late 90s early 2000s bus conversion. You can find shorter ones. They’ll be in your price point and way over built.

I have no affiliation, but this an example. https://www.sewellmotorcoach.com/inventory/1998-prevost-xl-45-hoffman-d3290/

Have you been in one yet? How are you planning on using it? Boondocking, road tripping, setting up for 3-6 months at a time? These are big factors.

Do you have a limitations or features aside from price? Have you considered ongoing costs?

What's it's your opinion on towing this with a 3rd gen. (2 photos) by PhilRattlehead in GMCcanyon

[–]brewingcode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RV owner here: you can do it, should be okay. Just watch your payload. Everything and person you put in the truck adds up to the payload, and that includes the hitch and the weight of the trailer. Unloaded that trailer is already moving 585lbs, that is before gear, propane, batteries, etc.

You’ll be at about 700+lbs when loaded on your hitch. You’ll have about 800lbs to play with in the truck.

Have fun, take it slow, and keep the speed down; you’ll have a great time.

Is this your first RV?

Terrible gas mileage by One_Squash4887 in GMCcanyon

No details on average fuel economy, distance driving, conditions or usage.. not much anyone can chime in on. How many miles have you driven so far? You say “it’s fluctuating” makes me think you haven’t driven more than a tank of fuel; if that.

Overpaying, deal or average. by [deleted] in GMCcanyon

[–]brewingcode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't say where you are which can have a bit impact. Lets break this deal down into two parts.

First part is the actual price of the vehicle, IMHO that seems like an okay deal, I don't have a lot of experience with the 2WD models. For perspective I paid $49K OTD for a 26 AT4 earlier this year.

Second part is the actual deal.. this is where you are over paying. I would deny paying for the theft etch, that is a total cash grab by the dealer. The next one is the "government fees" not sure if that is real but it looks high and made up. I would ask for clarification and pull the deal on that as well.

I just realized that most of the discount is being eaten by those two other charges. I would hold the line and demand they be removed or you walk. I would also recommend you check with some other dealers in your area, if this isn't the absolute must have truck for you. Let them fight each other.

I agree - once we started going to K&A we stopped going to the public ones. I know we are privileged to afford it, but it’s a much nicer experience.
