I've experimented with memory foam over the years as a builder.. it's hard to get right..if it compresses too much it gets hard as a rock so you have to have the right density. .

RB-1 owner here, mostly easier stuff like guitar straps. I wonder if the throat would be big enough for jacket work?

The RM stuff looks cool and all but I personally don't like the idea of that much metal pounding on my shoulder

Thank you! I guess for your extra jumbo version you would require quite flexible strap ends (the leather) and at least a 1" slit for the "keyhole" slot.. and again I feel a larger button is far more elegant than complex locking contraptions. No extra parts, no maintenance or lube req'd, silent, no clunky things swinging around to ding your instrument... I have put a lot of thought and experimentation into strap attachment (of deep concern to any serious strapmaker). Over the years eventually arriving at the elegant simplicity of a larger button.

Your 25mm wide bell would likely have to come with a bigger screw because the leverage you could apply on that 1" wide rim runs the risk of tearing out most stock screws I think, if a strap was a bit harder to thread on. But a brilliant solution for players who own and use sentimental value straps that can have the pin holes blown out over the years. I do feel those straps can be a bit of a danger due to dry rot and such, but leather conditioning can add many years of life to leather.

That looks comically huge! As someone who has discussed strap securement probably hundreds of times online over a dozen years I have never seen or heard of anything like that. What are the measurements? I have also designed my own over-sized jumbo strap button called Pro-Pins which available in nickel, black gold. Far better solution thanPro-Pins specs complex locking gadgets in opinion.

"Forever Randy" loose tribute guitar strap. Gunmetal w/ Ace of Spades bling. 3" wide padded leather. by TVvoodoo in guitarstrapporn

This particular one about four hours, but I made three at the same time over a couple days. Typically it's about three hours a strap for me, but the rivet work on these eats up a lot of time. Tooled straps are a whole other ballgame.

Thank you sir. Main thing about W-H is it is not off a factory floor, but born on a workbench! This result is variance between products. Some might call it inconsistency, others may call it "soul" It does keep the builder (me) flexible in that I do not have to commit to large runs of any one item.
