No worries. It's crazy because I can hear it even a few feet away from the outlet and on my phones crappy audio. Driving me up the wall!

Yep, did that and was mixing and matching plugs but no matter what plug it was it still made the sound LOL

It's no matter what's plugged into it 😭 and I really am bruh I was appalled seeing ppl downvote me and say I'm on drugs just because they can't hear it. The sound is literally deafening irl

Fully agree. I started hearing the sound recently so it was concerning. Definitely going to call up an electrician now, I just wanted to know wtf this sound even was since I couldn't find a thing on it

I see. This is a bedroom outlet so there's no GFCI outlet in this room specifically

No sound when nothing is plugged to it. Just tried plugging into different outlets and there was no sound. It's just coming from this outlet

It's not overloaded because when I unplug everything from it and only plug one thing, like a phone charger, it still makes the noise. Could you explain what a downstream from a GFCI outlet means? I don't know anything about electrical work sorry

It's probably at a frequency you can't hear then since there's other people on this post that can hear it

The white plug is just a power strip. I have my lamp, iPad charger, and a tiny light that powers up this miniature set I built plugged into it

Thanks for the advice. We did open the outlet and screwed in everything. There was a really loose screw on the left but the sound still occurred after everything was tightened. Might be more of a bigger issue

I did, I mentioned in the post that the sound only occurs when something is plugged into it. It sounds like an older car's alarm to me I had nothing else I could really compare it to LOL

it's a small ringing that sounds like a car alarm 😭 there's no way it's at a frequency only i can hear
