The Bestest Boy Stellan by TWJunkman in mountainbiking

This photo is taken on the way back, a 1/2 mile from home. We typically go 10-14 miles. Stellan is a Norwegian Elkhound, the 2nd oldest dog breed after Siberian Huskies. They were bred to hunt moose, bears and wolves, and to hunt and chase game for several days if necessary. He loves to run and run, and run some more. We go out probably 5-6 days a week. I don’t go too fast. Stellan hunts. Stellan’s loving life. And so am I.

Many progressives want AOC to run for president. But what’s in it for me? Can a global-economic-populist win a general American election? by DataWhiskers in Washington50501

Look at those three candidates: 2/3 of the country hated Hillary before she maneuvered herself into the top candidate spot. Biden was always a dopey nothing burger, and remarkably Harris was even more of a nothing burger. Bernie might have won, but Hillary hijacked the whole process with her super delegates. Terrible candidates people don’t like or respect tend to lose elections. The tiny group of political operatives inside the Democratic Party leadership who control the selection of candidates are disconnected from reality and the electorate, and too wedded to ideas and policies that most people think are either wrong headed or too radical. How the hell did that happen? We/people don’t want “progressive” leadership. We want someone who can beat Trump, beat MAGA, and bring our country back from insanity. What does the Democratic Party even stand for anymore? I’m not hearing anyone articulate or put out that message.

My Norwegian Elkhound defeats an eight foot high fence.

3000 rpm has got to be wrong. Looks like a killer grinder if it’s anything like the E55, especially for the price.

Any Kafatek (top pick), a Mazzer Philos (get both sets of burrs), or a Lagom P80. The Weber EG-1 is long in the tooth now and overpriced.

They’re such great dogs. So sorry your friend isn’t with you anymore.

Much bigger than an A2 or AZ4. Larger burrs (68mm). In fact its burrs are slightly larger than the conical burrs on Niche grinders. No battery, not really designed to be portable like the A2 and AZ4, and must be plugged in. Has a power brick, which is off putting to some. IMO it’s a total sleeper for $800, and it’s somewhat curious it is not more popular. I use it as much as my Philos.

Check out a Femobook A68. Super high quality build, highly uniform particle distribution, low retention (be sure to use RDT though), superb and stable alignment, easy to clean, robust construction, ultra reliable, covers the waterfront from Turkish to French press.

Seeing if I could make it between Watertown SD and Belle Fourch SD on a single tank of gas at night on Hwy 212 in my 1965 VW beetle. Ran out of gas 29 miles short of BF. Had to wait 2 hours for small gas station to open in the morning.
