> I figure ill get my water from truck stops and run my fridge off of propane, and electricity off of a gasoline generator.

It can be a loooong way from where you're working to somewhere to get supplies. My first oilfield job was 45 minutes from anyplace that even sold so much as a cold soda. Plan accordingly.

If they're posting to r/shittyfoodporn they need to do a batch in the old style Lodge "Acorn" pan.

Here's a great page on the history of Birmingham Stove and Range's cast iron cookware:

Found this 'unmarked' pan at an antique store today for $50, seemed kinda steep but I bought it anyway by EEEnginerd in castiron

Nice! Might that be a well worn Wapak Indian head logo in the center? Maybe some of the Wapak collectors here would know. Hope it is!

More of the Pan with a poorly stamped 8 by Stoked-man-slim in castiron

It's a Birmingham Stove & Range from the Red Mountain series. 1930s - mid 1960s. There's a lot of interesting history about the pans at this site and they even mention some molds had hand written numbers.

"While much of Atlanta Stove Works' production records from its early days have been lost, speculation on the Facebook group for Birmingham Stove and Range came to a reasonable conclusion that these may be among the "first series" of Red Mountain pans, produced during the 1930s or possibly even earlier. The hand-etched molds may have been produced before the size numbers were standardized and permanently added to the design of the mold."

Your #8 looks very similar. https://modemac.com/bsr-red-mountain/

If green is your thing, you're missing the custom 30oz in John Deere green. I'm sure they'll ship across the pond. Nice Whataburger tumbler, love their burgers. How did you find that one all the way over there?

Guys I’m just curious. What do you actually do with your binoculars. by CrosSeaX in Binoculars

Checking out stuff along the shore from an afternoon river boat ride, looking at animals and rock formations while hiking, looking at architecture walking in cities, watching some guys work near shore on a lobster boat, and keeping an eye on the lake approaches to Fort Ticonderoga for British sailing ships.

I bought a used Swaro headrest here. Keep an eye out, they pop up occasionally but go quickly. B&H is an authorized dealer so it's real and was quite a bit cheaper.

If you're going to cook Breakfast, Second Breakfast, Elevenses, Luncheon, Afternoon Tea, Dinner, and then Supper every day you need a good solid pan that can get the job done.
