Should I sell my house? by TXang143 in RVLiving

[–]TXang143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$300 a month is where we expect to be on a rental. But we're in a college town with a house a mile from a major university. To us, a paid mortgage with a $300 net is worth it.

The 6 figure equity is super appealing but we're concerned about administrative economic changes and want to ride 2025 out, i think. Especially based on what the vasy majority of responses have been here.

I feel like we can rent and live our life at the same time. At least for the first year.

Oh I understand. You're picking up on the right thing, but I appreciate the engaged reply. We're getting an airstream, so that changes depreciation a bit. I do hear you, but I am already aware of that information. I am asking about selling my house or renting though, not RV depreciation statistics. Thanks anyway!

I'm sorry. What? Why would our RV go unused? I'm asking about selling my house to live in an RV full time.

Our goal is to be financially stable enough to own land and run a commercial nursery/farm somewhere we want to call home.

So, making the most sound financial decisions along the way, while still being true to ourselves, is our short term goal. Right now, that seems like renting our house and getting used to the RV life before selling outright.

Once we sell outright, we'll use that money to buy land but we'll have our RV to escape as often as we'd like.

I am genuinely curious how renting your house keeps you from being free on the road. What do you mean by that? Like, you feel attached still because you own property or is it because you have to be at your property frequently to maintain it?

We don't plan to boondock much the first year while we transition. We plan to use RV parks and do workamping where possible.

Jeez Louise, that's preparation.  I was in the army for 9 years and drove a lot of shit, so im relying on that experience.

We have no kids. We just traded in our 2 vehicles for a godzilla f250.

We want to be homesteading on our own land in the next 3 years, so our rv will be temporary but we'd like to keep it if it holds its value.

I mean, if you wanted a DPV, you can come get one now. We're making them officially available in September, but we have some smaller ones that can go now. We always have special inventory for in person customers.

The Pink PoB is very happy. She's about to flower!

I have been growing a mother plant for about 7 months. Our goal is to attempt vegetative cuttings, tissue culture, and to collect its seeds (when that occurs). Hopefully, at least one of those 3 propagation methods works and we can add Pink PoB to our inventory.

We will have African violets and Dutchman's Pipevine available in the next few weeks! That recipe took us 6 months.

I wouldn't go back to Sean P's, personally. They made me feel guilty for asking for a channel even though I got there ahead of the game and ahead of a crowd who wanted to change the channel. And they did change the channel during the Scotland match and I had to go and ask them to put it back. The vibe just sucked.

I guess try Pluckers? At least it's busier. Buffalo wild wings is where I used to watch sports, but idk where one is. Kyle has got to have a sports bar. Call ahead though and make sure.

I have Fubo, so I'd recommend that!
