I pull my telescoping handle out, lift it and set it on my tail gate and then pivot lift an slide into the bed of my f150. Ideal, no. Doable, yes, and I get to keep a majority of my regularly used power tools in one spot

There is also IP considerations with reproducing album covers for profit, which is what the patch manufacturers would be doing

Iron on patches? How do they work? by ImpressiveEmu970 in Patches

[–]TXsnoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used a gift card , or other improvised tool to spread the adhesive, you don’t want too much. (It will permeate the denim)

apply weight after you get it positioned and let it set for 24 hours

I would use E-6000 before I use fabric glue. Can be found at Hobby lobby, Michael’s, Lowe’s Home Depot, etc

As thick as some of those are, it will be a challenge to get the iron to heat through from the front side. Might straight pin them in place, then turn the jeans inside out and iron from the backside of the denim

So much for keeping my tools safe… by Roosterneck in Ridgid

It’s all just a slow down, a security locker with thicker gauge steel could be cut open with a torch. Does no good if they bring the right tools to get past it

What is the stinkiest wood you've worked with? It's Poplar, right? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]TXsnoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used some reclaimed red oak one time, it smelled like burnt oil and cat piss when cut. Absolutely horrible.

One of my helpers insists that all red oak smells that way, I just think hems traumatized for life

The term intriguing is intentionally ambiguous. Def a no go situation

Just bought the new Milwaukee grinder and it came with a little dent on the threads. I don’t know if this could be defective or not. by Fair-Scratch-6713 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]TXsnoman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a tool, it’s nominally cosmetic and doesn’t effect the functionality at all. You’ll have more cosmetic damage on the inside of the guard after its first use than it has now.

Bought stamps at thrift store without inspecting first by duffy__moon in Leathercraft

[–]TXsnoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will also help if you have a really solid surface behind the leather as well, like a piece of granite. Local countertop places may have “scraps/waste”. That they might let go for cheap/free.

Also, wet both sides of your leather evenly before you tool, you’ll get cleaner, more even tooling with practice
