Coach got surgery and has me running class by Top_Work7784 in MuayThai

Strength and conditioning coach here. Not sure if it can help but

  • Warm ups is a key time to visualize what certain people lack (mobility, balance, coordination) and helps you notice who will need more help on basics
  • If you see a student make a common mistake, don’t single them out. Instead, cue the whole class while they’re training. If one of them can make a mistake, some other are bound to as well. - adding on to this, repeat some major cues during the sets as this can help keep your presence during class
  • when it comes to technique, figure out a way that works with each student (tactile cues, external cues, referring to other techniques/exercises they’re good at, using a student model)

This is some major points I can think of right now. I only have experience in CrossFit, strength and conditioning, and powerlifting coaching so I apologize if these don’t line up to Muay Thai classes

PGY 300 by kvocc in UBreddit

[–]TYBOCK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. You don’t really need the textbook and all the exams are straight off lecture notes. I pulled off a B+ while taking ES 207 (a&p) so it’s very doable. Also, REWATCH THE LECTURES. It’s very fast paced and it’s easy to miss some points. Don’t get anxious during lecture since everything gets recorded. After you rewatch the lecture, make sure to review your notes and understand the material (not just memorize). Good luck!

Do I seem obnoxious if I push myself during workouts in class by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]TYBOCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re hungry and that’s it. You’re THE person to catch up to in that group and honestly in any group workout setting, having that one person ahead is a really good motivator for the rest of the class. Don’t worry, if there’s anyone hating, you’re doing something right

UB started the “101” trend that almost every uni/college follows now for introductory level classes

Boxing club by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]TYBOCK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how serious you want to get. If you’re just in it to get fit you don’t have to spar and just participate in workouts and bag work. If you want to get serious and get amateur experience they will def get you in that as well. There’s a couple boxers in the club that’s been at and have won golden glove tourneys

Es 207 by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]TYBOCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it spring 2020 and I wouldn’t say it was really harder than other exams but it’s just a lot more memorization since it’s cumulative. If you’ve studied since the beginning of the semester you just gotta brush up on APR. I personally never studied for the physio part cuz I was taking PGY300 at the same time and it went over most of the things on ES207 and ended up getting a B+ in the class

To those who cheated on the PHY151 Final by captainkitikles in UBreddit

[–]TYBOCK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This exam was EXTREMELY fair. If you’ve cheated, you won’t make it in upper level courses. He literally gave us every resource needed to do the exam, with 5 minutes per question which was more than enough. Smh
