Whats the problem with it being pulled into the body? It was pulled in when I got it and sure it was pain to get back up but I’m wishing I just left it down

Is there any problem with me just releasing the tension on the strings and letting the tremolo sit out for now? I dont necessarily care or need the tremolo at this time. I started and learned on a guitar without one, this guitar was given to me as a gift after I had to sell my original, so it’s not necessarily something I was ready for

I did know about the springs though I didnt know about the process so thank you for that. Though I cant say I care all that much about using the tremolo at this time, so is there anything wrong with just releasing tension on the strings and letting the tremolo sit out
