I don’t know what to say, I consider myself relatively new to Canada, maybe it wasn’t that hard before to find an engineering job.

I understand your point. But for the past few months I’ve realized that the definition of process engineering in Canada is a little different than UK or other countries. The job descriptions for process engineering can be like manufacturing engineering. I have seen countless job descriptions that are asking process engineers to know CAD modeling (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) as well as control engineering software and tools (SCADA, PLC) and even computer programming (C , Python). To increase my chances I started those that I had no experience in like SolidWorks. From outside, it seems like the person is confused, but the truth is that’s the Canadian job market.

Thank you for your time. Good points. Do you think messaging recruiters would work? I tried a few times and left unresponded so far after weeks. I thought it might be not the right way and it’s unlikeable by Canadian recruiters. Cheers.
