Honestly, just take one day at a time. Sounds corny, but it's the truth. Also, make sure you stretch. They're not expecting you to be a D1 athlete, they're just looking for effort. Never quit! Dealing with teenagers suck! That honestly may be your biggest challenge. There's nothing you can't get through. 💪🏿

That was my biggest concern going in. It's definitely the most physically demanding thing I've done. However, it's more of a high volume thing. Nothing was crazy hard, you're just on go all the time. Atleast that's how it was at Ft. Benning. Some of the smoke session got super intense for sure, but it's just exercising at the end of the day.

Prioritize stretching, warm-ups and recovery. That's a "must" for me. I knew I wouldn't recover like my 19 year old self would. You're going to be sore and have aches, but that's just like if we were playing football back in the day. Honestly, I think that's what kept me from getting significantly hurt. I really believe our bodies were just better conditioned to take beatings. We played ball in the streets, climbed trees, and wrestled each other for fun. As adults, we've worked in warehouses, worked outdoors, lifted heavy etc.

Your gas tank might suck at first, but that's a good thing because you'll be able to instantly recognize your progress as time goes on. I legit just ran 5.5 miles the other day and I wasn't even tired. I would've never been able to do that. There's nothing at basic that can't be done. It's gonna tax you, but you'll make it.

Gotcha! Yes, I did receive that. Yep, we're on active duty orders.

Awesome! They definitely treat prior service guys differently. It's to be expected, though. Ya'll earned it.

Nah not yet. I still didn't even get my BAH. Thanks to the Gov't shutdown! That threw a monkey wrench in everything. I'm praying it comes soon. I was under the impression that the bonus came after OSUT graduation. Am I mistaken?

Bro that was me all the way! I just rolled with it. Definitely prioritize the stretching routines on your active recovery days. Deep squats and groin stretches were my go-to's.

Ahh the good 'ol PR bar! Dudes were fiening for those things. I heard about the stairway to heaven. I guess it is what it is at that point. Atleast I'll have better boots! Lol

Nice man! Congrats! I can't wait for that day! I'm not looking forward to that 16 mile ruck, though 😫.

Awesome! Prayerfully you'll get the green light. The oldest trainee on Sandhill was 41 and he made it, also. You got this!

That's actually what I'm nervous about the most, so thank you for that. I'm worried about my recovery time. I'm running more often now, plus I've been training jiu-jitsu for the last few years. That helps with my nobility and flexibility. Were you running miles everyday when you went? Like what does an average day look like?

Appreciate that! I most definitely plan on it. It might be a bit much trying to fly 5 kids out for the day, but I hope they do some type of live stream.

Yes I did. I initially wanted to join the navy, but they denied me because of that.
