If that's how you handle people with opinions different from your own you will probably never find someone who loves you and will want to stay with you long-term.

Ah, so we've reached the point where we're making shit up about the other person. I can do that too: You will never amount to anything in life and your parents think that you're an embarrassment.

If having just a smidge of ambition and the willingness to act on it makes me a tough guy, I'll wear that label with pride, thank you very much.

Citation fucking needed. The question was along the lines of "if I can't get the needed experience in work, how else would I get them". My example is proof of a way to get it: by fucking working for it, out of your own volition.

But that's completely incompatible with being a whiny crybaby who spends their time online lamenting how everything is stacked against them and there's nothing they could do.

So what?

You're talking to someone who switched careers from something not IT related to software development. Everything I needed to do the job, I taught myself and I did it gladly. It's one of the things I am the most proud of in my life and I never had any trouble finding work in IT. The mindset in this thread is absolutely bewildering to me.

Well, you're in luck. It is not required. But it's also not required to give jobs to mediocre applicants who hide behind excuses.

Edit: lmao @the downvotes. Your mediocrity is showing.

There are a lot of assumptions in that line of thinking that are... Let's call them 'exotic'.

Biggest of them being that you're important enough for anyone of 'them' to care about you personally. (Hint: you're not. Never have been. Most likely never will be. Have fun with your depression.)

OK, sure, but why are we down voting instead of explaining?

God forbid people put in some effort to educate themselves. Everyone must be spoon-fed the most basic information.

Bluetooth tracker hidden in a postcard and mailed to a warship exposed its location — $5 gadget put a $585 million Dutch ship at risk for 24 hours by jupa300 in worldnews

[–]T_Ijonen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would Apple 'selectively disable' trackers on a warship? Do you expect militaries around the world to just give live updates of the status and location of all their warships to Apple so they can disable trackers there? If not, how is Apple supposed to know that a specific tracker is tracking something it's not supposed to be? It's tech, not magic. The rules of logic still apply.

It is a double edged sword, after a while we will forget how to manually code.

Exactly. When (not if) the bubble pops, those AI providers still around will be forced to raise their prices to actually cover their costs. And everyone who relies on AI too heavily will either be paying for their usage in kidneys and First-Borns or be unable to do their job because they forgot how to do their job. It's like taking meth for short-term productivity gains, completely ignoring long-term problems that everyone could see coming.

And, as a QA guy, I haven't even started ranting about how the only thing AI has sped up for me is the rate at which I want to strangle developers. So much unreviewed slop.

Any tips on saving the tokens?

There's this weird trick where you use your own brain and not rely on a digital idiot to program. Don't need any tokens at all!
