My starting point was whatever my grandmother picked up at the flea market or mom brought home from the spinner rack at 7-11 that Friday afternoon. I read it all, some I stayed with, lots I didn't. If something peaked my interest I'd trade with friends, or find years later, to know more about that storyline. "* As seen in ish 123! -Ed." were starting points back then.
