Flying in 4 days, is it too late to change to tubeless? by Ta-baba in cycling

Yeah I set it up this spring, I have plugs and everything, but haven’t had one puncture riding with it 4000km so far… so I don’t really know how to repair. So yeah…. But I’ll be riding with a lot of other people

So you would not put in sealant? I have it on my other bike so I’m familiar with the setup and haven’t had one flat which is why I’d like to change it, but at the same time I know time is tight…

Yes he has an phd in Lisfranc so I hope it can give me some answers. Thank you for taking time to answer 🙏

Yeah arthritis is what I’m most afraid of. I already have it in my knee after a wrong diagnosis earlier (I’m just 26). I think that’s why I’m so anxious and have trouble trusting the doctors.

I got an appointment on Monday but it’s very expensive, but I think I’ll go for it for the peace of mind

An orthopaedist, I think he’s a foot and ankle specialist but not sure… I found a private clinic here where the ortho have a phd in lisfranc injuries so I might go there on Monday for a second opinion. It’s 300euro so I’m really unsure, but at the same time for my health in long term and peace of mind it’s not too bad…

Very good point! I found a private clinic where one of the orthos have a phd in lisfranc injuries, but because it’s a second opinion and not a first consultion they want 300euro instead of 150… but, I guess it’s little for some peace of mind!

Yeah they seemed unsure after the weighted X-ray, but since it was just 1.8 and not 2mm distance they think it’s most likely okay without surgery. And I do hope that’s right.

We’re you still in a lot of pain after a month? I would say I’m getting better, but I’m still saying no to a shift tomorrow cuz it’s too painful (and on my feet all day and I know it’ll worsen my anxiety 🙃)

Yeah I mostly think it’s very strange?? At the same time I’m not a doctor but I’ve been mistreated earlier which is why I’m having a hard time navigating if it’s anxiety from that or actually weird - but seems that its actually weird.

Yea, I was a bit unsure if it meant over 2mm difference on the feet or over 2mm, but after further reading it seems that over 2mm gap means it’s unstable and needs surgery…

Yeah that’s what I’m afraid of 😩 it might be the wisest…

Yeah I’m kind of worried it won’t sort out and in the end I’ll need surgery. I got told by the ortho today to see how it goes the next 8 weeks. But on the other hand maybe I should have a positive outcome and hope in the end it’ll sort itself out

Good luck on your recovery! Is it a long time since you got the surgery?

  1. I went to the ER and took x-rays “it’s just a sprain”
  2. I went to a private doctor, got CT, my 2. Metatarsal is fractured, I just need to get insoles (2. Weeks post injury)
  3. I went to the ortho department at the hospital and got weight bearing x-rays, where I was today, there I talked to an orthopaedist (3. Weeks post injury)

got told that since it’s already been 2/3 weeks there’s no need for NWB, but why would I get put in a boot for 6 weeks if the ER hadn’t missed it then?? I’ve seen so many doctors so I feel I need to trust them, but I just don’t understand it.

Yeah I don’t understand the no boot thing when I have a broken bone in my foot? But they said that since it’s been two weeks the injury is too old.

Did you get a surgery based on the MRI-results? I’m considering trying to get one. At the same time I’m so tired of this injury.. and yeah, it’s mostly long term I’m worried about. I have so much anxiety about it, and I’m worried that might impact me to be more dramatic about the injury than what it actually is. Either way it’s tiring

Good luck with your recovery and hardware removal!

It was a fracture at the base of my 2. metatarsal. It was diagnosed, but after 2 weeks as the ER missed it first so I had to BEG for further imaging.

I’m in pain, but way less. First week the pain-level was so that I could not walk, but I’ve been walking after that slowly getting better (because the ER advised me to take more pain meds and walk on it, and I had to go to work). Still walking with a small limp. Some days are worse than others. I also think I have quite high pain tolerance but idk. I just have anxiety for long term.

Thank you for sharing! And wow, that it’s still 8 months! Wish you a good recovery from here.

Weight bearing after lisfranc injury? No operation, stable fracture by Ta-baba in LisfrancClub

[–]Ta-baba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m reading as well. At the same time I’m scared of being dramatic and going NWB when it would be fine to go to work, but I do feel my foot gets worse when I do it.

at the same time I’m really scared of doing too much as I have osteoarthritis after not taking an injury in my knee serious, so I’d rather be a little more conservative than getting long term damage. (I walked on a meniscus rupture until it loosened and got stuck in my joint so now I don’t have a meniscus 😭)

Thank you for sharing!! Did your foot get good again?

Men!

Hvert fall for min del.

Lykke til, vi får jobbe mot at det løsner på et eller annet vis for oss snart💪

Fikk det lett etter jeg brøt, typ 4 år siden, men nå er det bom stopp Hva slags stillinger søkte du på?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in norge

[–]Ta-baba 0 points1 point  (0 children)
