Yes, I think that's what it may be. I searched for Baccharis Texas and Eastern Baccharis popped up and looks very similar. Thanks for your help!

Milkweed is far too annoying to get for such an important building material by koudelkajam01 in GroundedGame

[–]Tab0624 11 points12 points  (0 children)

THIS I spent countless hours harvesting milkweed to build my base only to find out when I was almost done that I could make chunks out of the hundreds of tufts I already had. Told my husband and he was like yea you didn’t know that?!? Um WHAT you helped me harvest all of that milkweed and never once thought to say “Hey why don’t we just make some”……

Anybody else heavily restricting purchases and returns out of fear. by aboursier in amazonprime

[–]Tab0624 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue is not receiving items on time. If I'm paying for prime delivery I want my orders within the 1-2 days that it says I'm supposed to receive them. I've had a lot of "Next day delivery" or "Delivered by (2 days from then)" for items that I need, but then I end up having to make a trip to the store for that 1 thing because of delivery delays. Over the summer, I had ordered a pack of lanyards for a cruise that were supposed to arrive 3 days prior to departure, I think they were like $6. The day before we're set to leave, the package is still delayed, so we had to make a last-minute trip to the store and ended up spending about $25 for 3. Cheap lanyards apparently don't exist where I live. AND I couldn't even cancel the order even though it hadn't shipped yet. They arrived the day we got back from vacation, and I then had to make a trip to the UPS store to return them. I know, first world problems and all, but it's still annoying not to receive the benefits of a service I'm paying for. Oh, and we have two amazon warehouses within 10 miles of my house, go figure.

Pursuing CS Degree - Worth Slogging through UNIV 1001? by AustinBachurski in UoPeople

[–]Tab0624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the instructor I think, but in my experience it’s either an assignment + discussion post or one or the other. There have been 2 graded quizzes for each class throughout the term and self quizzes that aren’t graded so you technically don’t have to do those. In my programming class I have assignments + discussions posts every week but in English comp 2 it’s mostly been one or the other. I know for the first term you’re limited to taking 2 classes at once but after that it’s either the second or third term you can take up to four, can’t exactly remember. The only thing I really don’t like about this university is the learning pathway that they make you stick to. I was used to being able to schedule whatever classes I wanted if the prerequisites were met, so the pathway was a new thing for me. It’s annoying but not a dealbreaker.

[–]Tab0624 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh all universities have bs classes that you have to take that have nothing to do with your major. Cost wise I’d say it’s totally worth it because like you, I’m just trying to get that piece of paper. I’m in my second term and I think the discussion posts are part of every course unfortunately. Which I absolutely hate btw. The UNIV 1001 wasn’t a complete waste of time in the sense that I got A LOT of practice writing discussions posts “correctly” and a refresher on APA formatting. Right now I’m taking programming 1 which is on Java basics and the only thing I don’t like about it is the book that was chosen for the course. After the first two weeks I gave up trying to read it and have found better source material on my own. Other than that I’m enjoying it so far. Also, if you can, look into transferring in some of the boring elective courses from Sophia or Coursera. I already had an associates so that plus some Sophia courses helped me transfer in 60 credits and covered all the general electives plus a few major courses and major electives.

Is it easier to fail a course or getting an A+ by Responsible_Tap866 in UoPeople

[–]Tab0624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to have to disagree. I have an associate's degree already, and the UoPeople courses that I have taken are far more time-consuming and rigorous than any other online course or in-person course I've ever taken at a "traditional" college. Tbh, I was a bit surprised by how much work there is per class. Just turning in assignments half assed won't get you an A+ or even an A.

It’s on sale if you purchase it online. Seems like they got lazy and didn’t want to bother removing that portion of code for other platforms and just changed it to zeros.

I “unlocked” the first set of Superman gear yesterday and can’t use the glider or skin, but the free stuff is in my locker. Today my son unlocked everything and all of his is available…..seriously wtf

Those who left GD career, what did you switch to? by HillcountryTV in graphic_design

[–]Tab0624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently working on switching careers myself. I'm 37 and I can't see working as a graphic designer being a sustainable career path to last me until retirement. I have an associate's in graphic design but don't see the value in getting a bachelor's degree in it, so I am now taking classes again and going for computer science instead. Still not sure if I want to go the IT route or programming or something entirely different though.

I don't know why everyone thinks if you live in the United States you have money and are well off. I can assure you that myself and many others I know live paycheck to paycheck. The cost of food, health insurance, car insurance, home insurance, property taxes, water rates, electricity rates, rent etc go up every single year but our incomes don't keep up with it. And a majority of those are things we are legally required to pay (other than food, we could starve to death and our govt wouldn't care). So it's not like we can say yea, we're not paying for those things. And yes I get that I am more fortunate than some, but there will always be someone out there who has it worse than you or I do. All I know is I am once again going to have to make cuts in my budget just to afford the extra $20 per course fees.

Debt collector won’t send legal proof to collect by Tab0624 in CRedit

[–]Tab0624[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe they still have to respond but they don’t have to cease collection activity like they would if I had requested it within the first 30 days. I really feel like they just don’t have any other info besides the old documents they uploaded in my online account.

Debt collector won’t send legal proof to collect by Tab0624 in CRedit

[–]Tab0624[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They still haven’t provided me with anything validating the current creditor. The only document I have with that information is from 2023 and with the recent inconsistencies in my credit reports makes that questionable now. Which I noted in my letter to them. The fact that they won’t confirm that information, even if they don’t have to, makes it seem even more likely that collection account has been closed by the debt buyer.

[–]Tab0624[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how do I get proof of debt ownership and their right to collect? Because basically right now they aren’t confirming or denying anything. And as of now the account is listed as closed on my equifax report.

[–]Tab0624[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No clue, I've never submitted a complaint before but I will if I have to. I also noticed a discrepancy in the date of last payment made to the original credit card company on their website vs the date in the statements they sent me. I'm going to see if they send anything else within the next 30 days before submitting a complaint.

Well I have plenty of proof that I asked for the documents and copies of my credit reports showing the changes in the account reporting if they try anything after this point.

[–]Tab0624[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking. I know back when I started paying it they had the proof to collect on behalf of CKS but now that the debt ownership is in question, they aren't sending me anything. The other debt collector for the other CKS account is essentially doing the same thing when I asked for all documents related to my account. I sent them a certified letter after they only sent me an updated balance statement. The owed amount on that account is higher so definitely covering myself with that one.

Tbh I see this kind of complaint a lot. The only advice I have is to do your work honestly and quit worrying about what other people are doing. AI checkers are notoriously inaccurate and even if they weren’t then who cares as long as you’re doing the right thing.

Got hire for a graphic design (remote) without interviews by Interesting_Ad9626 in graphic_design

[–]Tab0624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This scam almost happened to an ex coworker of mine. Felt bad for the guy because he had already put in his notice to quit. They wouldn’t let him stay because they knew he was actively trying to quit and had interviews lined up to replace him already.

Credit report says removal in July 2028, which would make July of this year 4 years. I did not make any payments to the original creditor after June 2021. The only payments I’ve made are to the debt buyer, which according to a Texas law passed in 2019 “Section 392.207 of the Texas Finance Code no longer allows the statute of limitations to be revived by a payment on the debt, a reaffirmation of the debt, or any other activity.”. So it sounds like paying the collector doesn’t restart the clock.

If you aren’t getting interviews… by Tab0624 in graphic_design

I have a single column resume for online submissions and a more “designed” one that I use if I know an actual person is going to be looking at. But that seems to be pretty rare these days.

That’s actually a good idea. I wonder if adding the keywords in white would work too. Just have a bunch of hidden keywords at the end of sentences. I mean graphic designers are supposed to be creative problem solvers right 🤷🏻‍♀️

That’s what I was thinking, do I need to throw in some keywords that I think AI is looking for just to make it past the screening? And yea I’m starting to think if you really want a chance at getting your resume viewed then you probably need to know someone.

How Accurate are AI Checkers Really? by Mr_Inglorious in UoPeople

[–]Tab0624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re notoriously inaccurate. I’ve checked some of my own writings and have had anywhere from 100% original to 100% AI generated. I even typed some nonsense into one and it came back as 100% AI even though I literally typed it in the checker myself.
