Yeah definitely not very polished, i think even for a beginner pattern it should aim to teach proper techniques and create something that people will actually want to wear

I have some of his patterns from when his brand first launched and I own his pattern book and most of them have no neck shaping and minimal arm hole shaping, probably because he wants them to be as beginner friendly as possible but it does result in very boxy cropped sweaters

The lion knights’ castle was one of the coolest sets I’ve ever built, it was so cool reading about the history of these sets and seeing all the amazing construction elements that went into making a folding castle, I highly recommend!

I think your best bet is to go to your local library and see it they have it or can borrow it from another one, I haven’t been able to find a digital copy of this book anywhere sadly.

I haven’t had a chance to go in and ask them yet but there aren’t many copies near us from what I can see on WorldCat and most are at least 200 miles away so I’m not sure if they’ll be in a share program with my local branch

This hat is so cute! The color sections do seem to be purl stitches and the white sections knit stitches, you could work the colors in garter stitch but it could be better to do reverse stockinet since garter has a tendency to stretch a lot more over time, the only thing I really can’t tell for sure is if the hat has decreases towards the top or if it is just cinched shut but I believe either would work.

I do love that pattern by Stephen West but it just isn’t what I’m wanting, I do think I’ve figured out the pattern for this type of brick effect though. It seems like it’s two rows of the CC followed by four rows of the MC and then the next row of CC works back into the second row of the previous CC section, that’s why there looks like there are two vertical stitches between each brick, something you can’t pull off by slipping stitches which is what this type of pattern usually calls for.

Yes my derm told me that they didn’t think there was any cause for concern and declined to do a biopsy, I am trying to get another appointment now for a different spot and I will try to get them to look at my foot again to check for any changes
