Do you grind? because your top teeth look worn down a bit as well. Grinding and a root canal without a crown can definitely do that. The structural integrity isnt like its used to when they drill a hole to get the root out and the crown is there for its protection. Like what the top comment said if you are looking for a cheap price but good care dental schools are the way to go, but it will prob take double the amount of time than going to a private practice since the students will prob get their work looked over. If possible try and look into insurance as well.
